As context our opponents are a collective 16-9 W-L so a 2-3 record and these stats suggest we are in the ballpark of league average but need a more consistent running game. The D will be tested by the Bengals O next week with Burrow and his WR on fire but the O will have an opportunity against a fragile D so we might see the O and D ranking gap narrow.

I watched a bit of that Ravens/Bengals game.  If the Bengal's DBs don't get healthy this week, the Giants offense could feast

Rich: I watched all of it (because they're our next opponent).

The bad news: Giants aren't great at home in prime time.

The good news: yesterday's events will certainly buoy and inspire anyone on the team who might have been disconcerted after losing a key divisional game in which they played up to (or as well as) a team that has superior  personnel (in general).

If Jeff Hostetler could do it, Daniel Jones can do it !!!

The better news:

The Giants have NEVER lost to the Bengals at home. However, every one of these games were close (i.e. decided by three points or less).

Let the trend continue.

Peace!

Funny thing with that record of the opponents is that most saw the 1st two games as the most winnable prior to the start of the season.  Now Minnesota is 5-0 and Washington is 4-1.  Cowboys, Browns and Seahawks are a combined 7-8.

uconn: Since you obviously contemplate stuff like this, which of the following is more like what you believe:

(a) Dallas is lucky to have the record they currently enjoy (and are likely to collapse eventually).
(b) Dallas is likely take full advantage of having eked out a couple of "busted-luck" wins.

I suppose it could turn on how fast certain injured guys return to the team, especially on defense.

Giants opponents are, on average, throwing 0.32 seconds faster against them compared to how quickly they throw against other defenses.

Time To Throw vs Giants compared to their average vs other teams:

• MIN: -0.27s
• WAS: -0.26s
• CLE: -0.50s
• DAL: -0.14s
• SEA: -0.28s

Maybe its my feelings toward Dallas, but I see option a as more likely.  When watching their games it seems like their OL has dropped a couple of levels.  They cannot run the ball almost at all.  Dak has improved over the 5 games this year, but the offense is not nearly as potent as some recent years.  Been a lot of coaching changes for that team over the last couple of years.

uconn: They were my pick this summer as the team most likely to under-perform preseason expectations set by the various soothsayers and official prognosticators.  We'll see.

Thibs was the cause of one of Davidson's sacks as well.  It won't show up in a stat sheet, but Geno moved to avoid Thibs and moved right toward Davidson.  Good team defense.

TDToomer

Maybe just maybe 2 seasons and 5 games was premature to call Thibs a bust or a wasted pick?
