The Jets have been trying to find a quality QB since they traded Joe Namath to the Rams.

My first thought was since the team doesn't seem to be going anywhere and Saleh would be gone at the end of the season anyway, maybe a change will help like the Raiders did last year. For the Jets sake, I hope that's right, but I have to wonder if it was a power struggle and Rodgers won.

VanPelt

The implosion is underway. Next Rodgers gets hurt, because he is 41 and already banged up, then decided to retire at the end of the season. No HC, no QB, and the normal players who want to leave. This is NY Jets football!

The Raiders' "help" was very short-term.  The Raiders are imploding this season.

I think they feel they have the talent for at least this year.

Atleast they didn't pull a Willie Randolph and leave him in London.

Wouldn't it be ironic if Belichek returns in '25 as HC NYJ

That was my first thought. He was a tremendous DC, just like Spags, who washed out as a HC, but is the high bar for DCs. Saleh won't be out of work long, especially for a team with defensive problems
The fact that Keith Richards has outlived Richard Simmons, sure makes me question this whole, "healthy eating and exercise" thing

Yes and unlikely. Woody still holds a grudge over Lil' Bill leaving him with an unscripted speech at his HC introduction/resignation announcement. Woody had no choice but to promote Al Groh who lasted one season.

Quote from: bighitterdalama on October 08, 2024, 10:55:09 AMHoly crap. Did they let him fly home on the plane?
They did... so that he could arrive at the team facility for a normal workday and be escorted out by security.

True story. They fired him corporate-style.

How is this different than when McAdoo and Reese were fired? Just curious.

It's certainly earlier in the season.
