We have a Rangers forum for a season that literally hasn't even started yet that is already two pages long, but both the Mets and Yankees are in the playoffs right now, and it's crickets!

Any fans here? I am a Mets fan myself. I have been astonished by how good this team has ended up being this year. I had them for a 75 win season or so going into the season. And the first several weeks looked even worse than that. Since May 30th they have the best record in MLB. Absolutely stunning. Amazing what this new GM has managed to do this year without making any splashing signings or really using Cohen's resources in a major way. I am very excited about this team's future, but the present isn't too shabby.

I'm worried about this game tonight though, as the Mets have squandered some major opportunities.

Would love to hear thoughts from either Met or Yankees fans if there are any here.

Hell yeah. Yankees fan here. The Mets keep doing amazing things like this potential series clinching grand salami by Lindor.

Lindor has been nothing short of fantastic this year. Met fans think he deserves the MVP which is a bit much considering Ohtani's season, but he's really done an awesome job. Very durable player too.

I'm not watching the Yanks right now obviously, but it looks like Schmidt has some good stuff going tonight.

Big Mets fan!!!!   I'm so happy !!

I'm currently on the Phillies Reddit seeing all their fan base meltdown.  Yeah I'm petty like that.   First we take out the Sixers, Now the Phillies!!!  If we take out the Eagles I might cry.  Man I hate that fan base.  Sorry I've been drinking !  LFGM!!
Get busy livin ,  or get busy dying.

Oh cry me a river Philthy! Talk to Twin City fans about heartbreak and no titles since the Twins in 2021. Talk to us NYC area fans about no titles since the Giants 13 years ago with twice as many teams. Philthy fans are the worst.

Well, Yankees and Mets fans should be happy that their respective clubs are in their respective league finals as of close of business tonight.

Dare I suggest another Subway Series on the horizon; the first since 2000?

Discuss.

Peace!

I don't know ? Are all the good teams in the NL? I'm a Mets fan and have only watched them. How good are either Cleveland whatever's or Detroit? I can imagine either dodgers or padres will be a tough out for the Mets and was glad they drew the Phillies in the division series.

The Padres and Dodgers on paper are the 2 best remaining teams and it's a shame only 1 can advance after tonight. I think the NL will be favored in the WS no matter the matchup.

Gerrit Cole as amazing last night. Ace doing ace stuff. The Yankees will have him in game 2 and a potential game 6 in the ALCS. Judge finally woke up and got on base 3 times. The bullpen has yet to give up a run. Clay Holmes has his mojo back and is thriving in non-closing situations with Weaver handling the 9th. Boone's gutsy decision to flip the script on the late innings was a smart one that saved the season.

Go Padres!

I'm not getting too caught up in the west coast series or getting fixated on which of these teams I'd rather the Mets play. The Mets are going to be the road team in either series and both of these teams are better than either the Brewers or the Phils. This will be a major challenge. The Mets have some magic going right now though, and they most certainly have a shot.

Sucks about SD losing. NO titles ever and the city has a title drought going back to the AFL days. That being said go Met and Yankees. Subway Series baby!

I feel for you. SD is a small sports market city and a paradise to live in (NOTE: if you can afford it or were born there). Used to drive down there all the time when I lived in Huntington Beach/Fountain Valley up in The OC. Also loved the Carlsbad area during my military days.

I still remember both Padres' World Series and I was living in SoCal in '98 when the Yankees clean-swept them. Utter devastation but nothing they could do against the best team in baseball who had that record year (114 wins). Just an unbelievable conquest for the Yanks that season!

Peace!

While neither of these California teams are in any way an easy task, my preference was to play the Dodgers. Which is not to say I'm super confident about beating them, because they're clearly a top notch team, the Padres were playing incredibly well. I didn't want to see them. Again, I'm not saying the Dodgers will be much easier, but they were still my preferred opponent.

My wife is from the SD area so she's a little bummed about the Padres, and I'm sorry about that, but I care a lot more about the Mets than she does about the Padres so it is what it is.

Congrats to the Yankees on a great series. The Soto home run was legendary.

Mets are in a pretty tough spot, but it ain't over 'til it's over.
