100%.  He was consostently active on passes, runs, everything.  Thibs disappears too much.

He has looked very good this season.  I wouldn't go overboard about last night though, he was playing against one of the worst starting RTs in football

Giants need to suck it up and get rid of Thibs  while he still has some trade value. I liken him to the same situation as Jones, #1 pick doing just enough at times to keep playing and paying

Thibs has been disappointing overall and the sack total last year sort of masked the invisibility at times.

The problem is, you'd be selling really low on a first round pick.

Perhaps the Lions come knocking with Hutchinson out. But what would they pony up for him?

Personally, I think you have to play it out with him.

Totally agree Woody. His next contract he will show ownership stats which probably increase his value also.

That's a fair enough perspective, Woody. I do view it from the opposite position and I'd play it out.

But make no mistake, I thought we were getting a game changer and currently, that's not what we have.

Well, let's get Thibs a sign "FOR SALE - MOTIVATED SELLER" and he can hang it on his wrist cast for the next four weeks and walk around the Sardine Can parking lot when prospective teams drop in for a game.

Seriously, the time off will do him well to review his film, evaluate his performance to date, identify trends for improvement opportunity and, when he's ready to resume, go back to work on those. We've seen this many times in the past with Justin Tuck and Carl Banks working through injuries and tough times during the season and finding a second wind to go back in and do better, which both inevitably did in their respective second Super Bowl seasons.

In the meantime, let Ojulari play and turn him loose. Let's see if he can spark the fire. Last night was one of his best games with the team. Maybe he can bring another one next week.

Sometimes, that stuff gets their underperforming peers to wake up and start making big plays themselves. Time will tell.

That's interesting perspective. Maybe you're right.

One thing for certain, I would like to see us make some trades (not sure of who) just in an effort to grab a QB next year or the year after.

Has to stay healthy and keep playing like that or he's gone.

I really thought he was done. maybe it was the injuries. he is a super solid rotational piece but i dont think he should get regular starting time (obviously unless there are injuries like thibs). but it was great to see him doing work.

I think the Ojulari hate/trade him talk was misguided. He's always had the talent. Maybe Bowens system is suited to getting more out of him than Wink's?

Thibs is unlikely to get another contract from the Giants at this point given the salary resources already consumed on the front 7.

Back in 1988, when the Giants had some issues with linebacker depth, they picked up Johnie Cooks from the Colts who was, at the time, a seventh year veteran who didn't play much that season, a little in '89 but was an unsung hero filling in for the injured Banks in '90.

Those type of players don't always grow on trees and, with the injuries starting to pick up now, looking for veteran depth via trade or FA signing can potentially help in the current season and, possibly, for future years. Yes, even in today's salary cap-constrained market.
