I think the Ojulari hate/trade him talk was misguided. He's always had the talent. Maybe Bowens system is suited to getting more out of him than Wink's?

He was a steal when we got him, and he looked like the real deal in his rookie year. Then his injuries started piling up. If he can stay healthy, he is really nice to have on the bench, or even starting as we saw last night. He was playing out of his mind...except when he didn't heave Burrow to the ground after a semi-sack because he didn't want a flag. That was something the team will have to talk about. At the least, Ojulari shouldn't have let him go until he heard a whistle...just hang on to him so he can't do anything with the ball until you hear the whistle, then release

Let's not forget that Ojulari failed to "contain" that led to the Burrow TD run. He has always been a liability against the run and is not the complete player Thibodeaux is. You can never have enough pass rushers so there is a role for him. But he's not a starter ahead of Thibs.

This has played really well the last few weeks especially against the run. He been in the backfield many times.

People are forgetting Azeez has been very inconsistent due to injuries and playing against a bad RT isn't a measure to compare two players.

I'm really surprised at the number of people who are ready to throw in the towel on Thibs.  No patience anymore.  He's a strong player who should pretty easily put up 10+ sacks a year.  He's often disruptive and does things that don't show up on the stat sheet with hurries and pressures.  We've got him cheap for all of this year and next.  We can exercise the 5th year option after this season if we want so he's not going anywhere anytime soon.  If we do that we get 2 additional years to see how he pans out before potentially franchising or offering a 2nd contract. 

As to Ojulari - good game.  Show me more.  He's a free agent after this year so play like your life depends on it and see where we land at the end of the year.

100%.  He was consostently active on passes, runs, everything.  Thibs disappears too much.

Ojulari is healthy, and if I am not mistaken, near or in his contract year. Combine all those with competition for time,  you get a guy seizing the moment.

For the record I am not giving up on Thibs.  My comment about a 2nd contract for him had to do with cap economics.  The team has 50 million/year committed to the DL with Dex and Burns.  While I think they could find a way to fit him into the cap, seems like paying 3 guys on that front 7 would present challenges

Back in 1988, when the Giants had some issues with linebacker depth, they picked up Johnie Cooks from the Colts who was, at the time, a seventh year veteran who didn't play much that season, a little in '89 but was an unsung hero filling in for the injured Banks in '90.

Those type of players don't always grow on trees and, with the injuries starting to pick up now, looking for veteran depth via trade or FA signing can potentially help in the current season and, possibly, for future years. Yes, even in today's salary cap-constrained market.

What a drafting blunder by Schoen nd company, picking Thibodeaux and Neal that high. What would they do without DT Lawrence  and OT Thomas. Inept drafting has been a big problem for the Giants.

First, I am not claiming to be a professional GM or even a scout; even though my personal record of players that I have really liked is probably better than some pros with all the time and resources at their disposal.

Second, it is a fact that the teams that are constantly competitive and get into the playoffs more often, they generally do a great job drafting players. Most of them hit on most of their day one and day two picks, plus at least 2 upgrades in later rounds.

To miss on two, not one, two top-ten picks is clear sign of ineptitude in talent evaluation.

They might have made changes though, because this latest draft seems to have gone better.

 Once again, were you not happy with those 2 picks at the time of the draft? I know I was and Schoen was complimented on how he got both with our 2 picks. You knew both weren't going to live up to their draft status?

I personally wanted WR London and OC Linderbaum (preferably after a trade-back; but when those guys were picked, I was ok with it, not because it filled two holes, but because I trusted their ability and knowledge.
