Well, the OL is playing alot better with Bricillo, lets hope whoever it is that steps in, can at least be serviceable.

Well, in all fairness to Ezeudu, he never trained at Tackle last season when he was thrown in there with a hope and a prayer. I never envisioned him as a Guard and saw him as a Swing Tackle. I suspect both he and Evan Neal are getting LT reps this week in preparation for the game. They will need a backup plan.

If we see them play, it will be interesting to see how Bricillos coaching affects their play vs previous seasons with Bobby Johnson.

I'm curious too. I expect improvement.

Won't ring the death knell on the offensive line's performance before the game. This line is much better than past years across the board, specifically in pass protection. Will definitely be a fall off from Thomas, but not evident it will be game determinative... and certainly not before we've seen a single snap.

Why would they not try Neal at LT with AT out?

Ed Vette

They can mitigate the loss by establishing a Run Game against the Eagles weak Defensive Line. Then set Jones' read progression from middle to the right side, keeping their blitz honest with shallow crossers from the right side and shallow mesh.

I don't think that decision has been made yet but Ezeudu is the LT Backup.

That would be really nice, the Giants got the second Tackle in the draft that resulted in the worst quality tackle in the 1st round.

As Chris Collingsworth mentioned in the Sunday night broadcast, the Giants move their blocking to the right (which helps the RT) while leaving AT on an island.   AT's talents allowed the Giants do that and it really helped the entire line.  Without AT, the Giants will have to protect the LT position and leave the RT on an island.  Jermaine Eluemunor is the best RT the Giants have had in a long time, but he is not good enough to survive on an island.

Teams can hide one less than elite OT, but not two.

Thanks Ed.  I thought I read somewhere here that Eze might have an injury ad well.

The Giants just faced the Bengals, who have zero elite tackles yet still are in the top-10 in scoring. And despite being harried all game, their QB found the way to make plays to win the game. The Commanders have one of the best offenses in football and two nobodies at LT and RT (who are performing poorly this season). There seems to be a common denominator between these two teams...

Already acknowledged it will be a step down with Thomas out. Will the Giants have to adjust to the loss of their LT? I sure would imagine so. I'd expect more 12 personnel with Manhertz staying in to block. Probably will be tighter windows for Jones to throw in to with less routes in the pattern. But Jones is already getting rid of the ball this season at an above-average clip, has the highest 1st-read throw percentage, and has been unable to throw downfield with any consistency, so this is not an offense that can use long-developing passes which demand significant time to throw with any sort of frequency.

I'll see how things shake out before making judgments.

Eagles left tackle is out also.

The worst possible scenario. That will be 20 games missed in his 5 year career.
