Looks like the Giants will be sticking with Ezeudu at LT

As I have said, I feel the outrage over Ezeudu was greatly exaggerated by everyone, including some that I highly respect. It made me feel that I was way off on this one. He had three snaps that impacted the play that I saw. Was he perfect? No, not at all, but he had some good exchanges, and he was put pretty much on an island alone except for a few snaps. I think he has improved a lot over the turnstile he was last season, as he was unprepared to start at LT. I do believe that he's going to need more help this game going up against Watt, and if Daboll doesn't start out establishing the Run with 7 hats, this is going to be a long night for everyone.
"There is a greater purpose...that purpose is team. Winning, losing, playing hard, playing well, doing it for each other, winning the right way, winning the right way is a very important thing to me... Championships are won by teams who love one another, who respect one another, and play for and support one another."
~ Coach Tom Coughlin

4 Aces

The OL is a 5-fingered glove.

The bigger story was the overall OL falling apart when EZ replaced AT, who required no help. That help could then go to the interior guys, or RT.

These are a bunch of JAGs that look functional with a Pro Bowl LT. Without it, you saw cracks up and down the line again.

Watt lines up exclusively on the RT.  So, would rather have the better tackle there for this week.  Not that it will matter, they will still lose.

It didn't help that the Giants have one of the worst swing tackles in the league with either Neal or Ezeudu.

The miss on Neal, a 7th pick in the draft is painful. I was happy when we drafted him, it's hard to swallow another Flowers like miss.

For a kick in the nuts-  Ikem Ekwonu, the LT Schoen skipped at 5, is still starting and now has a very nice 74.6 (17th best OT grade in the league)

What's most troubling to me is that the scouting process is questionable at best.

DG started incorporating Analytics into the process. Yet I haven't see one bit of evidence that Schoen uses the Department. The scouting staff was overhauled with the longest tenured scout having 15 years experience with the rest all considerably less. Reese and DG had a more experienced group. I'm getting a sense that Schoen runs the Draft with a much more autocratic approach. The War Room is still intact but is there still voting? It seems as if the scouts are not relied on as much as in
previous regimes.

As I stated in another thread - Neal should not have been on the Giants' Board let alone drafted so high. Schoen publicly admitted Robinson was a "reach" and he is turning out to be a below average slot/Z guy. The Giant WRs have been among the league leaders in drops every year under Schoen's regime. This league is a passing league, yet a practice squad player was DJs best weapon in 2022. The only upgrade made by Schoen was drafting a quality guy this past year. Other teams are acquiring second and third weapons. I could go on and on ...

So far I would rate Schoen third behind DG and Reese. So far his Draft and track record is doing little to convince me otherwise.

Would like to add one more point. Schoen signed four Free Agent guards and added another later in Roten. Eleumenor can play ORT but physically he's a guard playing out of position. Schoen knows full well that Thomas is officially injury prone. Schoen did nothing to shore up the depth at either tackle spot.

The more I see of Schoen's work, the more I question his competency for this job. Right now, he's not a good GM.
