How would you feel if the Giants were 6-6 after Thanksgiving?

Quote from: Philosophers on October 26, 2024, 02:39:29 PMFolks got all excited in 2022 when we made the playoffs.

Would it not have been better, more appropriate to have said, "some folks". Afterall, I rather think that not everyone here at time felt quite so excited and inclined to ignore the fact that it was only the second time in what had been 10 years, now likely to be 12, that Giants had had a winning season. For some of the more cynical, or at least cautious among us, pom-pom waving would been a bit too impetuous, ne c'est pas?

That's not to say that we aren't reassured by your telling us what will be necessary for all of us to eventually feel excited without apology.

Cheers!

Look at the stats with Thomas starting. .7 point less differential. The offense stinks so badly, now worse. They may have trouble beating anyone; much less division foes

Carolina game may be a toss up..this is a train wreck..another trick, no treat before Halloween.

An All Pro player who is continually injured each season and misses a fair number of games is hardly a person to build a team around IMHO.  Giants need to find a future OLT in next couple of years.

I hate to say it and I kinda try not to think about his injury history, but I think you are right.

From Simms to Eli (with an assist from Hoss) our Super Bowl Quarterbacks. Great defense and clutch QB performances...NY Giants Championship football.

I have an old profile still floating around: andrew_nyg....I am one and the same!

Although the team is already built around Andrew Thomas at OLT- favored in the 2000 Draft by Ceri Dovey and just one other of us- it now may be about as obvious as the need to find their QB of the future although hopefully with not quite the same urgency yet.

Cheers!

That would tell me the coaching and playing have made improvements and they have something to build on after they get a new QB.

I would bet the Steelers will not drop this one at home, but it feels like a 50-50 game. I think the Giants will avenge their close loss to Washington and are probably 5-6 going into Dallas for Thanksgiving, with the Cowboys having a similar record, and the Saints coming to the Meadowlands/Metlife the following week.

I know there is a lot of gloom and doom right now but I'm not feeling it. This team is getting better and there are winnable games down the stretch to finish around 0.500.

I'll have what you're having, and I hope you brought enough for everyone. :o

Just going to enjoy this one. Expectations are to lose so I am not going to be crushed if they drop this one like I was last week (um, the Eagles are different okay).

Yeah; I agree. It's an entertainment. I hope there's pleasant elements to it and I'd love to be shocked by a win

But my expectations are low. I don't think we score 17 points.

Mitch, I'd be feelin' you found a good 'still in the outer Birmingham sticks that makes a darned good 'shine! There's no way the Giants are going 6-6, or even 5-7. It will be much closer to 2-10, if anything, but I'll give you 3-9.

They just don't have the horses to compete for 60 minutes anymore with all the injuries they have right now.

Peace!

Now that they are 2-6, I really would be happier if at Thanksgiving they were 2-10. At this point, it's obvious the Giants are not going anywhere. I'm tired of late season meaningless wins that hurts their chances in the draft and have no correlation to the next year. There is no carry over or good feeling with wins in garbage time. Sometimes you really have to suck to start getting better. That's what the Giants need to do, at least in their overall record. My ideal scenario would be they are competitive in all their games, have some young players show promise, but lose them all. Nothing changes until the QB situation is upgraded. And to me, the jury is still out on the coach. Excuses aside, you are what your record says it is and his keeps getting worse and worse.

We are mired in QB hell with a coach killer.
