Doormats

We are, and have been, for quite a while, the Doormats of the NFC East. We had company for several years with Washington, but now Washington has struck gold (or so it seems) with Daniels and we are now alone as the Doormat of the NFC East.
Say what you want about Dallas and Dak, Philly and Fields, both of whom have what anyone (except Giant fans) would say are franchise QBs and now we can add Washington to that group, so where are we, stuck with Dave Brown II (you know who I mean) and it sure looks like we will be said Doormat for quite some time.

Sure it takes a lot more players than simply a QB, but it also shows what a good QB can do for even a lousy doormat team.

Anyone who thinks we can compete with the other teams in the NFC East with our current QB is looking at things with rose-colored glasses. You can instantly see what a good QB can do for a lousy team and Washington was worse than we were last year. With all the excuses made, and still being made, for Dave Brown II just look around, look at Washington, look at Chicago, look at Houston and even look at Denver where Nix will end up being a good QB.

Doormats for the foreseeable future until we can get a real QB.

QB is definitely the key missing piece that we sorely need. Having a QB will also show that we do have talent on offense.

In Ed's "15 best Giants players" thread, I think it was very telling that most of the players listed are on defense. If we had a better QB, Robinson and Johnson (and the QB) would be on that list.

There's no telling when we'll be competitive but I'm confident it will be a big jump once Schoen and Daboll get their guy.

The Commies were just as bad as the Giants right up until Jayden Daniels walked into the building and now they're in first place.  The Giants from top to bottom are as talented as any team in the division if you don't count QBs.  But if you do count QBs they're right where they belong.  Get a new QB that can and will make all the throws and you will see a Washington-like resurgence of this once proud franchise in very short order.  The pieces are there.

"...make all the throws" AND be a real leader and clutch playmaker which is what DJ is not. Of course, much easier to say that to accomplish without a broad smile from "Lady Luck".

A QB who can throw the ball, and get some points on the board, will also help the defense, and not require as much of them, and let them catch a bit more of a breath, helps the team out as a whole.
