Draft with the Jets for a potential franchise QB?!!

The Giants, Yankees, Knicks all lose on the same night and now we have this to look forward to?!!

UGH!!!

From Simms to Eli (with an assist from Hoss) our Super Bowl Quarterbacks. Great defense and clutch QB performances...NY Giants Championship football.

I have an old profile still floating around: andrew_nyg....I am one and the same!

Is there a potential franchise QB in the 2025 draft?

He's not in the draft, but Daniel Jones should be available.

I actually think there are several that could be available in the mid 1st Round. Sanders will go early, and Ward will go shortly after, but guys no one was talking about early in the season are moving up fast including Nussmeiere, Wegman, and Klubnik. You also have guys like Beck and Dart that have slipped a little.

6 of the teams that would be currently drafting in the top 9 could also be in the QB market. This draft doesn't have an elite QB prospect but could definitely see 3 or 4 going in the top 10 as teams get desperate.

By draft night, they will all be going top-3 or 4.

This is my main concern.
It happens virtually every draft, bang average QB prospects shoot up the board to get overdrafted.
Carolina have set themselves back years with the Bryce Young deal.....and that was a prospect who many saw as a sure thing.

None of these QBs excite me at all or feel like clear first round picks except Sanders. I do like Sanders quite a bit. The rest of them .. meh at best.

Maybe I'll change my mind as we get closer to spring but right now my view is unless we're getting Sanders I think we wait and defer capital to 2026 and try to get in the game for Arch.

A better question is would we even recognize him ??

When you need a QB and you like a QB, you draft him. It's possible the Giants end up not falling in love with any of the QBs in this class that are available to them, but the plan shouldn't be to hold back in order to break the bank for Arch. As this year proved, the idea that "you can always move up to get your guy" just isn't true.

I wasn't suggesting they not draft a QB they like. Obviously I don't feel that way. I was just giving my own personal opinion on this QB class. I appreciate mine is an amateur opinion and meaningless compared to that of an NFL front office. If the Giants like a QB this year and can get him, of course they should get him.

If however they are not particularly high on any QB who is obtainable for them (as was the case this year with McCarthy, Penix, and Nix), they shouldn't draft a QB they're not high on purely out of need. Much better to move on from Jones and go much cheaper at the position for a year (while deploying the savings elsewhere) and then try again the following year. In that scenario, unless they're going to somehow surprise and be playoff caliber in 2025 with some journeyman QB vet (not unheard of as the Bucs and Browns did it in 2023 and the Vikes look like they will this year), my hope would be that they're in position to be able to draft Arch.
