Jesus H, the whole Jones back and forth is tedious.
I'm sure Jones is a great bloke, he is for sure a tough guy who plays tough to the best of his ability each and every time he steps on the field.
But his ceiling is nowhere near January relevance.....no matter the pieces round him.
Have we "David Carr-ed" him or was this always his ceiling?
I don't care and it is 100% moot here and now.

Now does anyone seriously believe we can EVER be contenders with him at QB?

If the answer to that is "no" then we're shifting deck chairs on the Titanic.
Smell my cheese you mother!

I am apparently fortunate that I was driving to one of our plants in Georgia and missed the entire game. My son, who desperately wants to draft another QB in 2025 and is thrilled that Tennessee and Carolina won today, said Daniel Jones was the best player on the field for the Giants today and it was just another Giants game - a comedy of errors with critical penalties, drops, with the usual missed assignments and two point conversions. No one seemed to be able to make a play today when they had to.

Does that about sum it up?

20-26 for only 174 yards wins you nothing.

Any comment I make today is more generalized since i barely watched

But here is a thought @sxdxca38 @todge

Just because there is a game where he is not the main reason of the loss, that doesn't mean he is the guy. You can be average and not a difference maker and still not be the biggest issues every week routinely.

It doesn't make him the answer at QB

Last weeks more than half the teams that played scored more than 26 points; this week, they're on a similar pace.  As a Giants fan, I understand your confusion; however, for a good portion of the league, especially teams with $40M+ QBs, 26 points is very attainable.

Having said that, our run defense has been horrible for years now...

What about the 54 yards rushing, plus he threw 3 TD's one was called back, defense gave up over 27 points.

Daniels only threw for 209, and Daboll for some reason kept going for two point conversions when the team can't convert them.

What is your point? Forget the 40 million crap . I
Agree never should have paid him that much. It s done.
But defense and coaching was the issue today not Jones.

Joe Burrow good to elite QB, his team has 4 wins 5 losses,

Trevor Lawrence good QB, his team has 2 wins 6 losses.

Dak Prescott good QB, his team has 3 wins 5 losses.

Baker Mayfield good QB, his team has 4 wins 4 losses.

There is more to a consistently winning football team than just the QB.

Again, I don't shift my emotions and/or narrative based on a single week.  I NEVER stated DJ was the problem today, nor do I care about a single week, which doesn't tell us ANYTHING.

I think my point is obvious, and supported with objective data.   Allowing 26 points is not insurmountable.

They are also forgetting the domino effect.  Opponents have no respect for him to throw the ball downfield and connect.  So, they play tighter and it hinders the short passing and running game.

It was insurmountable for 11 teams this week.....so far. I agree Jones hasn't been good enough, but he is just part of the big mess this team has become.
