Season about half over.  Mahomes has more INTs than TDs.  His team is undefeated.  Bob
If Jeff Hostetler could do it, Daniel Jones can do it !!!

It's almost like great QBs can still find ways to win, and make plays that count despite losing multiple starting WRs, RBs, etc.

What is odd, is they are doing it with a HC that also calls the offensive plays, which I have heard should never be done.

Well coached/well run teams can help their QB and not just count on their QB

Bob, could it be that Defenses have created a situation where the QB must make quick decisions of anticipation in order to drive the ball downfield, or they become relegated to a quick game and short yardage? Short windows and taking chances. His yards per game are the lowest of his career and although his QBR is up from last year, it's off his career highs. His PFF Grade is the lowest of his career. His most reliable Receiver is Ric, and he is relying too much on Kelce who looks to be in the first year of his decline. He also is pushing the ball to Worthy who leads the team with 3 TD's. They are productive on the ground. It helps to have a top five Defense.

Ed: Yes, it could and that description sounds eerily familiar to me.

I think defense is still important.

The "surprise" to me is that Reid and/or Mahomes haven't yet figured out the optimal response; or the right response is not in Mahomes' wheelhouse; or the Chiefs lack the correct personnel to implement the best response. I'm not sure which because I only saw them play once this year and I don't watch their reruns.

I don't know what the answer is but they've also lost their very good starting running back.

Looks like Hopkins is going to make a huge difference. Snake bit with all those R losses, and Shep had key Receptions too.

Shepard was written off as wash up, can no longer get open, too old and he looked like a complete different receiver last night. Just shows how the much maligned Baker Mayfield is light years better than Jones.

The Mayfield/Darnold story is good news for Jones fans as DJ enters his 7th year soon. 7 times a charm.

I haven't watched much Chiefs football but they have arguably the best defense in the league. Spags is really good when he has his pieces in place, and he does.

The other thing that jumps out is the Michael Jordan treatment they get with the officials. The Giants get screwed every week by the officials, while the Chiefs seem to get every call when they need it. It's part of the reason I rarely consume NFL football unless the Giants are playing. Crooked league.

They find a way to win. That bogus facemask last night though...ouch!

I hope Minny because of their investment in McCarthy let Darnold go. If we don't/can't draft a QB in round 1 then signing Darnold would be a good move, and won't break the bank. I wanted him badly out of USC, but Gettleman went for yellow jacket Saquon. Some of you will say Darnold has only showed ability this year. True, but coming out of college he displayed oodles of talent to work with/develop, Jones not so much. Darnold was drafted by the jets. As Giant fans they are our saving grace. A more dysfunctional team that our beloveds. The he went to Carolina. Hmmm Ok.

If it is, then just like Mayfield and Darnold, it won't be for the team that drafted him because DJ will be elsewhere on a cheap "prove it" deal as he was not regarded as anything close to a top overall pick as were those other two.

And if he and his cohort can't beat Carolina in Munich on Sunday Morn (9:30 EST), he might not see the field after the Bye unless we think the Giants see some benefit in shopping him.

Cheers!
