For Schoen to sit silent and do nothing tells me he is in over his head. What a disgrace to not move anyone!

Season is over Joe. You're clueless.

Truly baffling that even after last year's debacle with Barkley and McKinney they still couldn't find a partner for Ojulari and Slayton.  Even if they couldn't get more than a 6th or 7th the value in helping the team lose games by not having those guys around offsets it.

Well find out how the league feels about those guys come FA time.

How do you know they were on the market?

There were tweets that they wanted a high 5th or better for Azeez, didn't hear anything on Slayton

If you meant last year then I dunno.

Tweets by whom? Credible sources?

If they are prioritizing the awful product on the field now rather than the future product that could be better either Schoen is an idiot or Mara is meddling again.

With Slayton in concussion protocol, it was going to be tough to move him.  Would have had to be something like Slayton and a 7th for a 6th.  Was reading they wanted the 4th from Atlanta for Olujari. They were willing to give the 6th.  They didnt have a 5th to find the happy medium. For me, it is not about picking up a 6th round pick.  A friend of mine argued they can use that to trade up.  It has such little value it will help you move 3 spots in the 5th round, big deal.  To me, if they do not plan to try to re-sign him before FA starts, then why keep him now in a lost season.  Would be a different story if they were 7-2 and had no plan to keep him for next year.  Then trade him only for another rental that upgrades you somewhere or improves your depth where you might be thin.

If the season is lost, as it is for the Giants right then, then the priority is getting a new QB. Or it should be anyway. Having Slayton and Ojulari hurts that objective. No team ever stop trying to win. No coach and no player. But if the players aren't around any more? That's helpful towards achieving that goal. Take the 6th. Who cares? Trade Slayton for a swap of 5th rounders. Whatever. Just get them off the roster. Either Hyatt is as bad as they seem to think he is and they keep losing or he actually gains experience on the field that might help his development. There's so many reasons to just take whatever the best offer is. As there was last season too. But they just won't do it.

At least they didn't pull a gettleman and trade assets for a soon to be free agent veteran. I suppose that's some sort of progress

We dont even know if anyone even wanted Slayton after he left Sunday with a concussion.  For Ojulari, if what I read is true.  Dont understand why Schoen couldnt add a 6th or 7th to the package to get the 4th.  No idea if Atlanta would have accepted.

I read the Steelers would have been interested in Slayton before they went to Williams but the Giants weren't really open for business on him.  Could be nonsense or could be true and given they did nothing with McKinney and Barkley I imagine it's more likely true than not.

I think the Giants would have been more open to trading Slayton if Hyatt showed anything this year at all.

Tough to do that when you're getting 2 plays a game and Jones can't throw a deep ball.

Hey, don't look now but Ojulari is becoming the player we hoped he'd develop into after his rookie year. He's 24.  Are we so sure we want to let him walk and keep Thibodeaux (23), who would get more in a trade and be more expensive to sign at the end of his rookie contract?
I'd consider trading Burns, too but his play this year and his contract makes him a less valuable trade chip.
