Quote from: sooners56 on November 07, 2024, 12:32:35 PMI have watched several of the commanders games and have mentioned on here several times that Daniels has all day back in the pocket due to his Oline. Their line had been way better than the Giants Oline. Talent upgrade compared to the Giants Oline is why I believe Johnson is doing well. Talent is needed and the Giants as a whole just don't have much of it.

If coaches need talent to work with and be successful, then maybe that also applies to other positions and coaches.

If that is the case, why shouldn't Daboll be able to be granted the same talent upgrade at QB, or with another OL or two or another weapon before we kick him to the curb in half the time we have had DJ?

Bricillos line was great starting out before ATs injury, their most talented player went down and they took a step back obviously, so talent matters.

So why do some people (not the quoted user) want to kick Daboll out, when some of them also say we lack talent?

Speaking of a QB helping his offensive line... This is from Rich's post re: Cam Ward from Walter Football:

QuoteHere is the Walter Football writeup:

3. Miami image Cam Ward, QB, Miami
Height: 6-2. Weight: 220.
Projected 40 Time: 4.68.
Projected Round (2025): 1-3.
11/5/24: In 2024, Ward has completed 67 percent of his passes for 3,146 yards with 29 touchdowns and six interceptions. He has three rushing touchdowns as well. For the NFL, Ward looks like a potential starting quarterback. He has enough arm strength to stretch defenses vertically and can ad-lib his team into big plays. Ward has some running ability to buy time and hurt defenses with his ability to pick up yards on the ground. Like all college players, Ward has some things to work on for the NFL. He needs to get the ball out faster, as he has the habit of holding the ball too long. Ward puts a lot of pressure on his line by holding it for so long. Ward needs to speed up the process of reading defenses. Expanding his knowledge of coverages and fronts will help him to read faster.

I think the one thing that really puzzles me is offensive rookie tackles

Bobby Johnson was here when the Giants drafted 3 O-linemen (Neal 7th, Ezeudu 3rd rnd, and McKethen 5th rnd) and all three crashed and burned.

Yet the Commanders drafted a round 3 tackle, Brandon Coleman, who is their starting LT, and he is playing well with a rookie 67.1 grade

It tells me that having Jayden Daniels and two top running backs does a tremendous amount to expedite the development of the offensive line.

From Simms to Eli (with an assist from Hoss) our Super Bowl Quarterbacks. Great defense and clutch QB performances...NY Giants Championship football.

I have an old profile still floating around: andrew_nyg....I am one and the same!
