Quote from: katkavage on November 08, 2024, 12:02:37 PMI don't know is Sanders is good or not but would never make a calculation because his father had multiple Super Bowl rings. That is regressive thinking.

The same should apply for that other QB who has uncles with multiple Super Bowl rings right?

Basically his dad.  That's a lot.  This isn't a bad kid, I don't mean it that way, but man the first time he has a bad game you're gonna hear a lot of chirping from Deion about how his boy did everything right and those bums like Nabers and Wandale messed it up.  Only so much of that a team can take in my opinion.

I think you would have a point if he wasn't a coach himself. I don't foresee him being a problem, especially in the largest market. There will be a ton of endorsement money for Shedeur and Prime Time won't mess it up. They'll talk privately but I don't think he will be an issue.

Doesn't his dad have his own job that keeps him busy

I kid you not, I just asked a friend of mine if he thought Deion would be a problem if the Giants drafted his son and he said the same thing almost verbatim.

Have you known anything to be able to keep Deion quiet when he has an opinion?

Voicing his opinion is not the same as calling out players. Huge difference.

That might happen or it might not. In any event with social media now and everything else players, coaches, and front offices hear all kinds of criticism, some of which is unfair, and I don't know that it will really move the needle much just because it's coming from Deion. With that said I'm not saying it would be helpful, but to me that's far from a reason to not draft him.

If I had reason to believe Shedeur himself were significantly flawed in some way that would be another story. But I'm not aware of that being the case. The fact that he is rich already doesn't bother me at all provided he didn't break any rules, which I have no reason to believe he did. If I were in his position I'd take advantage of those opportunities too.

But what if his opinion IS that it's not his kid's fault which would then make it somebody else's fault.

Look, I would not say don't draft him simply simply becauase of his dad I'm just saying know what you're getting yourself into. If he's the best QB available they should take him. I hope they do.  If they have similar grades on him and Cam Ward and both are available...maybe lean Cam Ward.

I'm not going to avoid him (Shedeur) based on hypotheticals about his dad.

To your point, if he's the highest graded QB, they better grab him and deal with his pops later.

If he is the best available QB when we pick I have no problem taking him but lets not forget that this is a fanbase that  that abides by the "shut up and dribble" mentality when it comes to players speaking their mind. And even if that is his dad as the mouthpiece it would be the same as if it was the player. He will get run out of town faster than you can say Odell Beckham Jr.

Quote from: Giantleap56 on November 08, 2024, 08:48:17 AMI'm surprised Jaxson Dart isn't in that list. He should be on that list his numbers are very good. His average yards per completion is 11 yards. 3200 yards and 20-3 Touchdowns to interceptions. How is he not on the list.
He has gotten statiscally better in every passing category each year he's been in college. He also has the best back shoulder throw from any qb that I've seen in college the past 5-6 years. He's currently number 1 in the country in yards, average, and rating while being top 5 in every other category. Not to say Dart is Jayden Daniels but like Jayden Daniels he has significantly improved each year in college. That's always been a huge to me, a Qb that improved year over year in college.

His game tomorrow with Georgia will be huge.

Dart is interesting. I want to see how he does against UGA. A strong performance in this game will be impactful on his resume.

As a separate but related point, a win for Ole Miss in this game would go a long way towards their playoff viability.
