I've said numerous times that Daboll will be the coach next season, with the caveat that he doesn't lose the team. I still stand by that.

Re: the flea-flicker... the play worked. Jones didn't pull the trigger. Daboll protected Jones with that statement.

Like getting Jones a number one receiver, they will give Daboll a shot with a new QB.

The same Daboll who had no problems throwing DJ under the bus the prior week?

You can certainly justify firing everybody...but i wouldn't.  Schoen has actually been pretty good and Daboll hasn't had a real QB to run an offense.  Get the #1 pick, get that new QB, then watch what happens.  This team is poised to make some noise if they can just find SOMEBODY to run that offense.

Did you see the play?  Two WRs wide open.  Jones could pick either one for a big gain.  Got scared and sacked.  That simply can't be on the play call.

I don't recall Jones being thrown under the bus. But I'm sure some mentioned it and maybe Daboll thought better this week and decided to protect his QB.

I mean, don't we want people to do better???

How do you retain Dabs especially if the Giants draft a QB?  Fire him the next year then have your rookie QB on his 2nd HC?

Cut ties now.

Who is going to want to coach here?  If they fire Daboll I won't be outraged (obviously) but this guy has been hamstrung by a backup QB/RB masquerading as a starter on a second contract that most likely only happened because Mara said so.

I would like to see what this roster can do with a good QB before blowing it up all over again.  Unfortunately that QB isn't available.  I really feel we're just ******* like karma for the Super Bowl wins against Brady is collecting.

What reason would they have for firing him after next season?

This is an excellent point that I hadn't thought of.  No matter which side of the fire Daboll a person is, there seems no argument that Daboll's on the hot seat and his coaching hasn't been up to par.  So why let a HC on his last leg draft a new QB, when there is an excellent chance that pick with be forced on a new HC?

How many HCs keep their job after 3 consecutive losing seasons?

Respectfully, it doesn't matter. This situation is unique to the New York Giants. What other teams do and have done carry absolutely no weight when it comes to what the Giants (Schoen) need to do.
