Deion says he won't let the wrong team draft his son

Asked on Speak of FS1 whether he'll step in before the wrong team drafts his son Shedeur, Deion said he will, and then added that he would do the same thing for Hunter. But Deion said he'll work behind the scenes to get them on the team, not make a public statement about it.

"Yeah, but I'm not gonna do it publicly. I'd do it privately," Sanders said. "And with Travis as well."

Asked what kind of team Shedeur needs to go to, Sanders said it's all about the franchise being ready to help him succeed.

"Somebody that can handle the quarterback that he is. Somebody that can handle understanding what he's capable of," Sanders said. "Someone that has had success in the past handling quarterbacks or someone in an organization understands what they're doing, not just throwing you out there amongst the wolves if you don't have the support and the infrastructure of the team. Forget the line, he's played with lines that haven't been great but he's been able to do his thing, but just the infrastructure of the team, the direction of where we're going."

Sounds like he'd be OK with Shedeur being a Giant!

Me too, Deion. Me too.  :ok:
 :Giants:  ALL HAIL THE NEW YORK GIANTS!!!  :Giants:

Well, the Giants are quite familiar with this sort of deal.  Just ask Eli and Archie Manning.

"There is a greater purpose...that purpose is team. Winning, losing, playing hard, playing well, doing it for each other, winning the right way, winning the right way is a very important thing to me... Championships are won by teams who love one another, who respect one another, and play for and support one another."

Caleb Williams wanted to pick his team too. Same old meaningless noise six months from the draft.

Daboll checks the QB box (Hurts, Tua, Allen) and Schoen is building the infrastructure.

I was thinking the opposite.

Have to wonder what the chemistry would be between Deion and the organization if it did happen.

This season we have seen players have a say in who their coaches are.  A QB is making personnel decisions.  How about a father of a QB having a say in personnel?

He's previously been on record a not wanting Shadeur going to a cold weather team.
I'd rather be a disappointed optimist than a vindicated pessimist.

Not slowing my roll

Ed: Probably true, but here's direct evidence of what I was talking about a few days ago. Reminds me of the mom of our first-round cornerback whose name I still cant remember He went to the Saints I think. Bob
If Jeff Hostetler could do it, Daniel Jones can do it !!!

Grime Time

Please no.   I do not want the Sanders xxxx show to follow.  It would be LaVarr Ball times a million.

Bob, I think it's going to be a lot worse for whoever drafts Sanders.  Its one thing to have an overbearing mother on social media.  Its an entirely other thing to have a HOF player who has experience as a coach and assembling a team with some success to be looking over the shoulder of the FO.  His clout as a player and coach along with his not so quiet persona will very likely be a challenge to any organization that isn't extremely successful with his son on the team.

Am I the only one who thinks that Deion is going to the Cowboys as Head Coach?

Not b/c he'd succeed, but because Jerry needs a sideshow like that to sell tickets and prop up merch sales.

His team has less young talent than the Giants, and he has built a dysfunctional roster.

Even with Dak, who is looking like a shot QB, Deion and Son will elevate the soap opera with the increase in interest.
