Scoop City talks potential offseason coaching changes

Dianna Russini and Chase Daniel forecast what the offseason job market could look like and whether as many as 10 or 11 teams could soon be looking for new head coaches.

They seem to think there is a legitimate chance the Giants will be in the HC market.


One point that Russini made was pointing to the Jets and the Bears and how those were two teams that hesitated to make a change at head coach and asked if either team was better off waiting to make the change.

I mean the team is 2-8. It's no shock they are in these conversations with the various talking heads/clickbait artists.

They should be in the conversation. Nobody is saying that the conversation shouldn't be had. I think the difference is that some believe neither should be jettisoned and left to select their own QB and see what they can do there. I mean worst case scenario - they are bad for 1 or 2 more years.

It's been such an eternity of futility, 2 more years isn't making that much of a difference - to me at least, this is clearly just my opinion.

The worst-case scenario is you let the wrong head coach select your next quarterback, and you knee-cap that quarterback's development by having to change head coaches (like what we see with the Bears and Williams).  That's even assuming the wrong head coach selects the right QB.
