It is killing me watching Saquon. I have heard all the reasons and they don't matter to me. I would rather play 1/2 players short than watch this. One of the great disappointments in a lifetime of NYG disappointments. I really don't know how much more of this I can take and I have been a Giant fan since the 60's.

I feel similarly about Saquon....he was the ultimate Giant IMHO.

The idea that we could've kept him had we played hardball with Jones after '[emoji[emoji[emoji6][emoji6]][emoji[emoji[emoji6]][emoji[emoji6]]]][emoji[emoji[emoji6][emoji6]][emoji[emoji[emoji6]][emoji[emoji6]]]] or just let him walk, we could've kept Saquon and had plenty of room to build the rest of the roster.

It makes me nauseous.

From Simms to Eli (with an assist from Hoss) our Super Bowl Quarterbacks. Great defense and clutch QB performances...NY Giants Championship football.

I have an old profile still floating around: andrew_nyg....I am one and the same!

You should meet my 81 year old father for a drink. He will not get over Barkley leaving and playing better than he ever has with our biggest and closest rival. He's even rooting for the Eagles now! I get weekly stat updates from my old man as if I am not aware.

They say misery loves company.  To that end, you have a lot of company

Would you guys rather have Burns, Singletary, Nuban, or Barkley McKinney, 3 mm cap space more and 2 2nd round picks for kool aid at corner plus an edge?

It always sucks watching our guys leave and then excel.  But it especially sucks when you see it coming a mile away and it's the frigging EAGLES.

When saquan falls off a cliff next year, I imagine the tone and money saved will feel better.

Interesting point.

What's falling off a cliff, stats wise? 1200 yards and 9/10 TDs.

I mean, that's still decent.

Like his 2023 stats but with the Eagles. I mean the smart things for teams is to not pay for rbs on 2nd deals and +30 backs. Every time they have it has failed to this point, and while schoen may have upset some fans, it was logical decision based on the history of the position.

If Barkley were still on the Giants he wouldn't be doing the things he is doing with the Eagles. Our OL still wouldn't open these tremendous holes for him seemingly every game.
I HATE TO INCLUDE THE WORD NASTY< BUT THAT IS PART OF BEING A WINNING FOOTBALL TEAM.

Genuinely curious- last year you relied on a bevy of advanced stats to show Barkley shouldn't get the kind of contract he ended up getting.  Can you point me to the stats you used and what they look like this year?

Derrick Henry at age 30 is also having his best season.

So you thought he played like a 40 million dollar running back last year? He was overpaid, his metrics were trash last year no matter how you look at it. I didn't want to resign him because we had holes everywhere that an elder running back wasn't going to solve on a bad team. That is on top of the history at the position for Rbs on 2nd deals and how devalued the position is currently.

Barkley has 1100 yards on 200 attempt with 8tds

Tyrone Tracy has 550 yards on 100 attempts with 3tds

One is making 13 million, one is making 1 million with virtually the same production per attempt.

So why are we upset Barkley left? We replaced the production for a 1/13th of the cost, is that not what a good GM should be doing.

What really hurts me, and you, I think, is that they could have traded him at last year's deadline, got something for him, and sent him to a team that's not the Eagles.  Maybe that team could have signed him to a contract and maybe not and he ends up at the Eagles anyway.  But at least he wouldn't have gone directly from the Giants to the Eagles.  And they would have gotten something for him.
I'd rather be a disappointed optimist than a vindicated pessimist.

It would undoubtedly have been better to trade Saquon and receive compensation.

I still stand by the influence of Mara figuring into the decisions. Until his voice is silenced, the GM will not be as successful as possible.
