It always the same, Jones will, or he won't. Daboll will or he won't be, Schoen will or won't be. Mara won't unless he changes his mind. At least some of it is true unless it's just a rumor; only insiders would know.

But for heaven sakes people, don't stop telling us what must happen, whether or not it will happen even if there's no brie left after all the whining. Or better yet, if you need something else to scoff at, try this:

Then again, we might take comfort- even be distracted from our more usual persistent B&Ming- by learning that not everyone rates Eli as inverse adverse Numero Uno.

Larry,

I prefer a hard or semi-soft cheese with my whining.

People can say what they want about Eli but he is 2-0 in Super Bowls against the GOAT.  He was only the 2nd QB to throw two 4th quarter passes in a Super Bowl with the 1st being Joe Montana.

2 Lombardis is all I care about and for the rest, pardon the vernacular, but I couldn't give two sh!ts about it.

Now it might be time open a nice Bordeaux

They can also say that despite his career regular season record around .500, he was better than a .600 QB up until Jerry Reese didn't do anything about the aging OL which resulted in the 'broken' offence.
I'd rather be a disappointed optimist than a vindicated pessimist.

Not slowing my roll

The author said the Super Bowls were a product of defense (definitely contributed) guys making plays not Eli making good throws. Used Tyree and Manningham catches as examples.

Manninghams catch was great.  Just picture perfect getting the toes down.  But the throw was just as sensational.  There was good coverage and about 4" window to fit it in along the sideline. It's what they practiced thousands of times in that offense and they executed perfectly on the biggest stage in the biggest moment.

Larry,

In fairness, the Giants and only the Giants put themselves in a position to be so heavily speculated on over a decade of futility with the most recent run being two objectively terrible seasons where they were out of playoff contention by Halloween.

If the Giants want to stop all the speculation on what they should or would do, they need to perform better so there is far less room for speculation and second-guessing.

Rich,

The point I was trying to make is that we have allowed ourselves to be choked by negativity by and from whatever the source or reason which is the one thing we can blame on no one but ourselves.

We have become champions in the fields of bitching and moaning and whining, blaming, shaming, second-guessing and the mean-spirit of our personal conceits. It seems that it's everyone's fault but ours that we choose to wallow in self-pity rather than accept that ours is a fate that has been that of most team's throughout history with few if any exceptions including what had been that of the Patriots for so long and which will again, in a not too distant someday, be that of- So, you have finally made it Andy and his Chiefs.

Perhaps, it's just me as the second or third longest/ oldest Giants fan here, who is long past the simpering and whimpering in which case I should shut up and leave the task rest of youse. That said, however, please know that no one more than I appreciates the wonderful work you have done and continue to do in making this the best of all Giants fan sites.

Cheers!

Larry,

I appreciate and admire your stoicism, optimism, and restraint.  As fans of the team, we invest time, money, and effort.   In return we expect entertainment and the thrill of completion and victory.  After a decade plus, I am not sure the NY Giants are holding up their end of the bargain.

So I am not going to fault anyone's negativity or blaming at this point.
