Let me say, I don't believe this for a second. One thing Jones is not and that is a bad teammate. He is a Captain and QB. The idea he would just leave the team is absurd. Maybe others would do that, but not Daniel Jones. He's a good teammate first and foremost and these writers who are trying to find stories should be ashamed of themselves.

That's why I take a lot of that xxxx with a grain of salt. They phrase and word things to mislead the readers and manipulate viewpoints.

We've constantly read about his high character and I don't believe this is what he'd do.  When Eli was benched, he was doing media interviews at his stool.

He could be looking to stay away for the sake of the team.  He knows the focus is now going to be on his future with the team and whether DeVito is the best option to win games.  If he is not around, maybe the focus is on the actual performances moving forward?  Just thinking out loud.  Staying away doesn't necessarily mean Jones is quitting on the team or being a bad teammate.

When Eli was benched for Jones, he took it well.  When Eli was benched for Geno Smith, he and his dad fans the flames of a media frenzy that ultimately led to Reese and McAdoo getting fired before the end of the season.
