Apparently there is an unnamed offensive player who called the Jones benching "weak" and "trash".

This does not bode well at all for Daboll keeping the locker room (or his job) for that matter.

Interesting. Do you have a link?

HondurasGiants

Money decision? YES
Right decision? YES
Jones better than DeVito? YES
Sucks for the rest of the team? YES

Having said all this...

Do I want Daboll fired? YES

Do I want Schoen fired? I DON'T KNOW

He tried to trade up for a QB, Saquon had to go, I don't think signing Jones was 100% his call, he did good leaving us an out in the contract for year 2, he drafted VERY well this year...

He's made some bad calls...but he's willing to make the tough calls as well...

We'll see what happens...

Go Giants!

Sources: There is "disappointment" among some #Giants players regarding how the Daniel Jones situation was handled over the past week, especially with players aware it was primarily a financial decision by the organization.

Dexter Lawrence publicly stated on Tuesday: "He's the QB1. To me, he's the best quarterback on the team."

One offensive player told me over the phone: "We're not idiots. They did it because of money. So be it. But Daniel has been all class, never complained, and is now being completely disregarded. The TEAM record is bad. You can point fingers everywhere. To try to blame him is trash, and making him third string is weak as fu**."

The sense I've gotten from multiple sources — players, coaches, and executives — is that the issues within the organization go far beyond just one person.

we are such a mess. jones hasnt exactly earned his status as qb1, in fact quite the opposite. but he is a team guy. and you can tell he was respected. i think the team knows they haven't really helped him and they feel guilty/responsible. at the end of the day, its the qb's job to elevate the team, and he has not been able to do that.

I was simply laying out blame. If you you feel blamed, that's on you. That's your issue. You've given a backhanded apology. I've accepted it.

If you have issues with what I say, ignore me or DM me. C'mon man.

I think part of the SH!t show we are in are people that didn't realise DJ hit his ceiling with this club 2 years ago.

Ed,

My response to your post should have stood where it was.  The responses you quote are the result of Tim (like Mara) meddling and making things worse.  I didn't have an issue beyond noting the subtle dig and responding with an indication of amusement.

As for Jones, I seriously doubt we will ever see eye to eye, but I don't see why that should be a reason for animosity.

There is an old saying that QBs get too much credit for victories and too much blame for defeat.  The 2-8 record is a team record.  I am sure many players feel bad that only one of the many fathers of this terrible season paid a price.
