Quote from: killarich on November 21, 2024, 04:19:09 PMIt took me to this season to finally give up on DJ but I feel for the guy

I know I know .... He got 40 million and much more ..... I'm not talking about that

He's a good dude and you can tell he's hurt

I hope he has a Geno Smith type late explosion in his career or something

Just don't play good against the Giants

He is a good dude.  In fact, a great dude.  That's why we stayed with him as long as we did.

feel for the guy. however, no one can even remotely argue he was getting it done. we all know theres other problems on the team, but he rarely, if ever, elevated this team. He wasnt willing them to wins. He knew he was on a job interview every week, and went out in germany and put on an AWFUL performance, during a season where he had few good ones.

He's played i believe upwards of 60 games... no qb in nfl history has gotten as much time as he's had to show he's worth keeping. It's very uncomfortable and unfortunate, but it NEEDS to happen. You gotta see if tommy remotely has the ability to be your starter for next year, because its clear jones will not be. Does he give them the best chance to win still? probably. But he's had far too many opportunities, and dropped the ball far too many times. Carolina should have been a dominant win on an international stage, instead he missed open guys BADLY, or just didnt throw it at all. Everyone has bad games. He has too many of them. And that's that.

Quote from: killarich on November 21, 2024, 08:50:32 PMI know this would never happen

But what if when released he does not getting a starting spot on another team

Would you hate him being resigned to backup level qb contract to backup the new rookie QB ??

That...is not the worst thing that could happen. He's a backup level player. What better backup than the guy that was THE guy for 6 years. He knows the system in and out. He has better rapport with the players than anyone else. I would certainly not be against this..but he might be.

Quote from: todge on November 21, 2024, 04:35:10 PMRemember Jared Goff? He flopped with the Rams.

If the Giants made it to a SB with Jones and he appeared in two Pro Bowls for him, would you call him a flop too?

My guess is probably not, as you don't even appear to think of Jones as a flop now, despite him accomplishing much less than the flop Goff did in LA.

Yeah, that's some flop.

I hope the next QB can be as bad as Goff.  /sarcasm/
