Other players like Singleterry

How much extra money will we have in cap to sign some players ?

We obviously don't need Singleterry anymore after this season ... does cutting him save us money or is it too much dead money ?

Hopefully in the draft we get a starting QB ....

Would like to have the money to possibly sign another WR (assuming Slayton is gone) and a #1 cornerback to push banks to #2 with Dru as nickel

Would like to keep Van Rotten (I know he hasn't been great) but I feel like this unit as a whole when healthy is slightly above average I just hope a good QB would find the line sufficient enough to be productive, which I do think it's enough ..... wouldn't mind an upgrade too if that was an option

I also want another beefy DT next to sexy dexy .... But maybe that could be a second round draft pick ... hopefully

I assume you are referring to next season

Jones-  Just under $20 million
Gano- Just over $3 million
Nacho- $3.6 million
Singletary-  $0.25 million

Beyond that, any player cut will either cost cap space or the savings will not really exceed the cost of a replacement player.

Here is projected cap space along with cap numbers.  The column on the right shows pre-June 1 savings for releasing players.  Singletary only saves 250K.  Honestly, you need a certain amount of RBs and he is a vet and knows the offense.  Guessing they keep him around.  Outside of Jones there are not too many big cap savings cuts available.  I think Gano and Nunez-Roches could be looked at for that.

For further reference, here is the estimated cap space for 2025 for the entire league.

@uconngiant posted some valuable information.

To those two charts I will add

On the first one, really focus on either the pre-June cuts or pre-June trades (if you believe a player has trade value).  Any of the post June numbers essential achieve their higher number by simply borrowing cap space from the 2026 team

To the second chart, the effective cap space is more relevant than the raw cap space.  Take the Giants; the raw cap space of $42 million doesn't seem bad, but look at the "#" column, which shows you how many players are on the 2025 roster.  That is 37.  When Over the Cap projects a full roster, the Giants' effective cap space is just shy of $23 million.

Anyone: I don't know a lot about NFL finances, but it appears (assuming he clears waivers) the only way to get rid of him is to agree to pay part of his remaining established (pursuant to contract) salary. Does that make sense, or not?  Bob
If Jeff Hostetler could do it, Daniel Jones can do it !!!
