Better for all parties at this point. Good statement yesterday by Jones and good statement today by Mara.

Now, how does this affect our salary cap?

According to Todge several teams would trade for him.  Let's see if someone will claim him on waivers.

A LOT of desperate teams right now...

Wonder where he'll sign...backup or starter...

JAX, SF, DAL, CAR, CLE, LV...

Good move for all parties...

He will hopefully sign with a playoff team and become what he is - a very very good and competent NFL backup who will be able to win games if the starter goes down.

I wish the best for him and I'll root for his future success.

Does this change numbers at all financially ? Or remain the same ?

If he clears waivers obviously

No change from my understanding. Basically the equivalent of releasing him in March with a pre-June 1 designation.

CFL season just ended.  Maybe the Mexican League would be interested?

Could a team possibly take the chance ? Then cut him in the offseason and be cleared the rest of his contract with the smaller similar how it would for us ?

Zero teams will claim him.  I would imagine nobody even signs him as a FA unless there's a season ending QB injury that happens or the signing team plans to stash him on the PS until next year in the hopes of using that time to teach him how to read a defense.

I feel like DJ has been having a hard time and was probably just too embarrassed to b the QB4 and taking safety reps after  years of being the guy

I don't think he's mad at the organization that paid him .... He probably has a major embarrassment feeling right now

I would

He will clear waivers - nobody is going to take on that bloated contract.  He should get signed to an above average backup QB deal.
