Kinda felt it was pretty mild. Didn't think anything of it. Maybe because I've heard much worse around here but to me it was basically nothing.

She acts like he is an awful person or something.  Why does DJ even remotely deserve that hate?   It's pretty gross if you ask me.

It's a shame that is what we have become where things like that are normal and even defended.

"But I don't want to go among mad people," Alice remarked.
"Oh, you can't help that," said the Cat: "we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad."
"How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn't have come here."

Yeah, I don't get all the pearl clutching either. I've definitely read worse here. Just go to a game thread.

And wtf purpose does it serve to make it worse by attacking the journalist for her take on it. If it came out of a man's mouth would the reaction have been so over the top?

I'm no fan of SAS but he's right and y'all are on record for saying so, maybe not in such a rant, but the criticism of Mara, the family, the GMs, the HCs, the team... has been brutal by the fans. This organization has no right to criticize the media with their track record.

I agree with the decision to part company. But Jones bypassed Schoen and Daboll and went right to the top to ask for his release. Where's the respect for the chain of command? And Mara gives him audience and complies? What Mara should have done was tell him he should go to Joe Schoen.

It was a pre-written speech that he didn't write, apologizing to the fans and the organization. Really? That didn't bother anyone? They make him the backup behind Lock and a practice squad player? That disrespect didn't bother anyone? Please...
There's disrespect all over the place.

To make it abundantly clear for the folks in the back of the room, this whole thing stinks to high Heaven. Totally orchestrated by the Organization.

Dumpster 🔥 has officially been lit.

Burn these TV a$$ clowns at the stake. Grab your favorite blame sponge, tie 'em up and set them 🔥.

You want to go one better than our forefathers with the plane flying over the stadium? Set the damned Sardine Can 🔥!!!

Blow it all up, take them all and start from ground zero.

P.S. Bring your military grade NBC masks with you as the smell of burning ancient garbage from pre-1970s may make its way to the surface.

There, I feel better now. I'd better get something to eat before my nighttime elixir makes me say something politically incorrect.

Goodnight Gracie!

I don't think other peoples actions in a game thread or anywhere else justify what she said.  It's was uncalled for in my opinion.

For the record I also think that some on this board go too far in how they speak of others.

I think it exposes what the actual chain of command is. Jones went to Mara because clearly Jones was always going to Mara.

PSUBeirut

The ironic part of this is that this is a post that describes the following statement:  "That an #ESPN personality would mock Daniel Jones' statement today is mind boggling. Given what has happened at that company over past few years, tone deaf."

as SLAMS ESPN's Elle Duncan".  SLAMS?  Just more clickbait....responding to clickbait....  In other words, modern media garbage all around.

Why is Pat Hanlon still the PR mouthpiece of the Giants? He a pathetic whining sexist excuse maker. Oh boo hoo a lady journalist was mean to your ex-QB at a network that has all but ignored the team in the biggest TV market for years because of how pathetic they are. Most of us want Ronny Barnes gone. I say take Pat Hanlon with him.

Sadly, this is the country we live in. There was a time when being an a-hole was something most people avoided. Now, for people like Elle, it's something she aspires to be. The societal change results from society's transition from shunning and shaming those who act malignantly to justifying the behavior or even celebrating it.

Values like "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all" and "Do unto others as you want others to treat you" have been discarded for today's in-your-face anything goes world.

I agree ...yes Mara tech orchestrated the whole benching thing....any business would do the same ...but her comments were uncalled for at this time . Save it for Saturday night live or another ESPN segment in a couple of weeks ..but we are talking about a good guy that worked his butt of to get where he was .   successful ...no ...but still he worked much harder to get where he ended up than she has ever had to do . She has been given a chance to be an ESPN reporter or commentator and she chose to belittle a professional athlete when he  hit the bottom of his career. Maybe someone will have similar comments for her when she gets the axe from ESPN ...many others have been chopped off lately ....In my opinion because they prefer to air crap comments like hers instead of covering sports professionally and sticking to sports reporting instead of trying to accommodate personalities with attitudes. I guess they are focussed the the "E" entertainment instead of the "s" sports, in their call letters.
