Sources: There has been significant interest in former #Giants QB Daniel Jones since his release. Once he clears waivers, expect the Ravens, Vikings, Lions, 49ers, and Dolphins to pursue him — not only for a chance to join a contending team, but also to develop in an offensive system where he can learn and grow.

A decision could come as early as this week, sources say.

None of this is surprising, we have said for a very long time he is a quality and even very good backup in the mold of Jeff Hostetler. I'm sure as upset as he was he is also beginning to be excited. As a backup, when he comes into games the pressure will be much less and with his mindset that is a good thing. In fact he may thrive.

DJ can take comfort in this comment from his good friend Saquon Barkley.

"It didn't work for me over there. I'm doing well over here. Hopefully, he can find the same kind of fresh start and success."

He represents value at back-up QB money. Absolutely.

I don't think anyone is surprised there will be a market for a 6 year vet to act as an insurance policy. Poor quality starters get jobs as back-ups every single year.

Ahhhh, the first mention of the Eagles. There's talk amongst the fan base that they do not like Kenny Pickett, their current backup.

Philly could be a landing spot for him as well.

I like the Miami Dolphins for him too.

Yeah, I have heard the Eagles mentioned quite a bit.

Eagles make sense for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is Jones being an upgrade to Pickett.  There is also style of play with a mobile QB that makes sense.

That's great that he has the opportunity to get excited again.

When will WE have the opportunity to get excited again?!

From Simms to Eli (with an assist from Hoss) our Super Bowl Quarterbacks. Great defense and clutch QB performances...NY Giants Championship football.

I have an old profile still floating around: andrew_nyg....I am one and the same!

@T200

It would be a real kick in the pants if both Barkley and Jones did well with the Eagles.

Maybe next season, but realistically, I think that may be a bit of a long shot.

What would doing well be?

He's not signing anywhere to be a stater this year.

Keep the faith, Andrew.

We are awaking from the nightmare of the Jones era and everything that came with it.

I'm sure lessons around the mistakes will be learned. I think it's time to positive now and I for one, am looking forward to the game today.

Doing well would be starting a game and playing well or entering the game in relief and playing well.  Backup QBs are called upon to play from time to time.  In the case of the Eagles, DJ might even start toward the end of the Eagles clinch and rest players.

Personally, I didn't have a problem with Barkley going to the Eagles. I'm super happy for him that he has an opportunity to showcase his talents.

Jones has less of an opportunity to show what he can do but he can learn from the sidelines and get a different perspective on how another team is run.
