We, as fans, are great as Jone's agent, but let's try and look at it from Jone's perspective. Sure he would want to go to a playoff team, but would he just accept the backup roll without even the chance of eventually becoming a starter?
Teams that were mentioned are great but most have starters that will be there for quite a while and I just do not see Jones as accepting becoming a backup.

I said this the other day, a good fit would be Minny, where Darnold will probably want a lot more money to remain there and one would hate to pay a backup a lot of money as their future is with JJ. I can Jones going there with the hope of possibly becoming a starter if JJ doesn't work out. The same can be said for Atlanta, where Cousins will probably leave as their future is Penix. Jones can play a huge role there also.
I HATE TO INCLUDE THE WORD NASTY< BUT THAT IS PART OF BEING A WINNING FOOTBALL TEAM.

Right now the Raiuders are a perfect fit. Minshew hurt his shoulder and is probably out for the season. He could start right away as he is better than any of their backup QBs

I don't think going to another dysfunctional team would be DJ's best career choice

Does Jones think other teams have not seen how bad he is?  I want to sign with a contender too.  If a contender needs him for anything but mop-up duty, then they will not be a contender for very long.

Other teams see how players do much better once they are freed of the dysfunction that is the New York Giants

he is a HUGE reason for the dysfunction.  All of a sudden he is released and how he is a legit NFL QB?

Yesterday, it proved beyond a doubt that wasn't the case.  DJ left, and the team got much worse.  It must be a coincidence that when the team removed its toughest player and a team captain, they suddenly (and by their own admission) played soft

They were 2-8 before yesterday.  Let's not act like this was 2004 when the team was 5-4 with a chance to make the play-offs when they decided to pull the plug on Warner.  The season was lost before yesterday.

They could only muster seven garbage time points, against one of the league's worst defenses.  They got blown out 30-7 against the Bucs, who were on a 4-game losing streak.   Those are new drastic lows.

so, now we are worried about style points?  They lost to the alleged worst team in the league 2 weeks ago.  Couldn't score a TD against D*ll*s.  Could only score 7 against Cincy, 3 against the Eagles.  Shall I go on?  Anyone who thinks yesterday somehow vindicates Jones is off their rocker.

I think the score would've been 30-7 with those 7 in garbage time if Jones had been playing. We've seen enough of him to know that.

Sorry, but I am just not buying it; I witnessed the worst game of the season by a mile.  If you don't believe me, just listen to the players after the game.

We never heard the players accusing each other of playing soft when DJ was here

So, Jones should be here because they would still get crushed but at least nobody would say they played 'soft' afterwards.  Got it.

I was a Jones supporter early on ...then I had questions about his abilities as a Starting QB....I listened to all the excuses for him...new coaches ...horrible O line (still is ) no weapons ....etc.
and thought some were valid issues.
Then this year it became very clear that he is not the guy for the Giants ...however, after watching yesterdays debacle and seriously having questions about Daboll as a head coach...I don't feel Daboll has the ability to  call plays for the team he has...maybe for a Josh Allen team, but not "his team " blah blah blah ...there are many other reasons this team is as bad as it is .  Not just Jones or the QB position.....poor player personnel decisions all around, poor coaching absolutely no discipline on this team ....same mistakes over and over again etc etc.
But the way The Jones issue was handled was just about as bad as it could have been . I get all the reasons from management standpoint ....but Jones was there guy .... paid him ...let good players go to pay him.
Then dropped him like a lead balloon...made him show up as a Stand in Safety on a scout team ?????
really how humiliating is that for anyone....it was Shoen and Dabolls decision to go with Jones...what ever they did to get him ready and develop him did not work. But to do what they did to him speaks volumes about the management of this team...and the locker room has taken notice in a big way. Good luck signing FA'S in off season to play for this mess of a team.
Maybe this week they will play hard and try to compete..nobody wants to be embarrassed in a national turkey day game ..but Daboll is done ...there is no future for him here unless they can completely change over the roster in one year....as for Jones ...I think he really tried to do his best ...is he a Super Bowl potential QB.  no ..but I do think he has more talent than what Daboll got out of him .
So I hope Jones up with a contender and collects a play off check and has a coach that can get the best Jones has to offer as a QB.
