Bringing in Belichick would be the dumbest thing the Giants can do. Get a new coach if you want, but the rose tinted Brady years googles will do us no favors

He left NE in shambles and worse shape than the Giants. This type of backwards looking blindness is what got the Giants Accorsi leading a search that got them Gettleman. Move. On.

Isn't he employed in Cleveland?

A lot of rewriting of history going on.

Both Schoen and Daboll came on board while singing the praises of Daniel Jones, committing to him, resigning him, and staying with him until this week. Even last year when it seemed his injuries could end his tenure, they chose to bring him back. Jones was Schoen's and Daboll's QB. There's no other way to spin this. Daboll can't stay after this debacle. He just can't. Even the incompetent Mara couldn't spit in the eyes of the fans that way. He'll probably f*ck up the next HC hire, but that's another story.

I'm on the fence regarding Schoen.

What are you talking about?  Daboll and Schoen first acts were to void DJ's 5 year option; unfortunately, their first draft was the worst for QBs prospects in 30 years.  They could have signed Carr or Jacoby, but I doubt that would have changed thier trajectory.  DJ just signed his contract 18 months ago.  I'm not sure of your definition of "committed", but the facts don't seem to fit your narrative.

Do you think it's possible that there was a compromise on Jones?

Is it not plausible that Mara felt sorry for the guy that they "did everything possible" to screw him up? He brought in a new GM and HC in the hopes they could right a wrong.

Do you think that they would have picked up the 5th-year option if they were sold on him? Why wait to see if he would work out and potentially have to pay him more?

I'm not suggesting that Schoen and Daboll aren't culpable. I am suggesting that Mara kindly bullied his first-time GM and HC to keep Jones.

In the NFL if a team goes backwards in win totals in consecutive years that usually means the end.  That is regardless of players, injuries, refs and any other things that may have been involved in losing.

Right or wrong that's the way it way works.

I wasn't aware of that but he should still be available this off-season.

I don't agree. I listen to pressers and pay close attention to what the GM and HC say. Going back to when they were hired, their commitment to Jones seemed ironclad to me. if it wasn't, they wouldn't have franchised Barkley while signing Jones to the contract. They've been here almost three years now. Jones was here until now. He is their guy no matter what else was going on. Can't have a QB for three years and then say, "hey, never wanted him in the first place". Sorry, it doesn't work that way.

I don't know. Seems like speculation to me. If Schoen and Daboll let Mara bully them and they don't make their own major decisions. then I don't want them, I want guys who don't take their orders from an incompetent Nepo Baby. In any case, the result is that Jones became their guy. If he wasn't, they should have said so, and done something about it. Three years in, you can't just shake it off and pretend it has nothing to do with you.

Do you believe the axiom "actions speak loader than words?"

Yes. Their main action was to hold on to Jones as the starting QB three years into their regime, with Drew Lock and Tommy de Vito as the plan b.

Everything else is spin.
