T200

Quote from: Trench on November 24, 2024, 10:54:26 PMHe was right when during Hard Knocks he let it be known he did not want him to be on another team. He was 100% correct. His production and leadership on the Eagles proves it.

Yes I think we would have a better record with Saquon. Not much better though. And to be clear, I'm not upset he is gone. I'm just saying the owner wasn't wrong.
Fair enough.

I think he'd be the same dancing homerun hitter he has been for us.

I don't think we'd be any better with him.

I agree with that also

I don't get it ...last year the Eagles were dead to rights, the coach was to be fired...now look.

When can we see good fortune like this?

Why does it feel like Saquon has an extra gear this year that he hasn't had since 2018?

PSUBeirut

Good god.  I must say it's fun to watch, as a huge Saquon fan from all the way to his first carry at Penn State.  Also....before the season I put 25 bucks on him winning league MVP and if it hits I win $1500+ (one of many Saquon bets I placed before the season started that are all paying off)...so I have financial stake in this also.   =))

Saquon tonight:

26 carries for 255 yards
4 catches for 47 yards
2 rushing TDs

He set his career high in rushing yards for a season... with 6 games left to play!

The greatest challenge to an NFL team is finding top shelf talent.  We had it in Barkley and we failed to build an effective system to utilize his skills.

If we were going to draft Barkley we should have found better OL talent and drafted it immediately.

I love the kid.  He was a quiet leader.  I want Schoen and Dabs fired for the simple reason they failed to build around him and they let him go.  Acquisition of talent is not the same as building a system.

Wonder if Blues Cruz head has exploded with Barkley not dancing behind the line and TD not providing a spark.

The Giants have 9 takeaways this season.

Quote from: T200 on November 24, 2024, 10:48:59 PMMost people here said he would be a top RB because he had a great line to run behind. I don't think anyone expected him to be worse than he was with us.

There was a number here that said Barkley had lost a step, would have a better year but wasn't anything special at this point because his ability had diminished with wear and tear.

The Giants would be 2-9 with or without Barkley. He helps the Eagles because they have all the other parts around him. With the QBs the Giants have, defenses would just stack the box and not let him beat them. He's having a great year, but his loss is meaningless to the Giants fortunes. Only that he is thriving in Philly is it bad for Giant fans.

There is a disturbing pattern of players playing better once they leave the Giants

Quote from: PSUBeirut on November 24, 2024, 10:41:45 PMWhat is crazy to think about is if Hurts hadn't vultured so many TDs this season Barkley would be in the drivers seat for league MVP.
If Hurts wasn't a threat, defenses could focus more on Barkley.

MightyGiants

Maybe Gettleman was right in his assessment of Barkley  :surprise:
