I'm fast becoming anti-Dabs....but I will say, last year the Eagles were doormats and the coach was to be fired. Now this year they could be the best in the NFL.

I dunno maybe let Dabs have his QB and another chance - but guys he really needs an OC to call plays and he also needs a better "upstairs" guy to tell him when to challenge vs when to not challenge. He has struggled in this area.

Every year. No name players or studs he gets it done. All the time.

In point of fact, they have 2 studs on defense in safety Minkah Fitzpatrick and linebacker T.J. Watt. They also have 4 other pro bowl and/or alternative type players, including Pat Freiermuth, Cameron Heyward, Alex Highsmith, and Derek Watt. Plus, they have plenty of young studs like Pickens, Benton and Herbig who are heading for Pro Bowl consideration.  Where did you get the idea their roster was stud or talent-less?  They are one of the leagues most talented teams, who consistently produce quality drafts.

This regime has managed to make things worse.

The Eagles last year still had much more talent than the Giants have. Year before they were very good  and now good again ..Giants have not been good as Eagles are and have been over last few years Since 2011 .
When was the last time the Giants beat Eagles when they weren't playing back ups.  Same with Dallas

If the threads are still up from last year, go look!...everyone said eagles were crashing and coach was done for.

What a difference a year makes. I'm furious with Daboll but this gives me pause AND hope!

For the last decade I can't remember 10 players on their team yet they're ALWAYS in the hunt - same as I remember the Bellichick Bills.

i hate the idea of moving on from yet another coach, but the reality is he is cooked. we are the worst team in the league. its year 3. we are going backwards, not forwards. if we were even slightly better, sure, keep him around. we legit might win 2 games this year. what coach in year 3 wins 2 games and keeps their job?

How many games did you really expect him to win with Daniel Jones, Drew Lock, and Tommy DeVito as the QBs?

Yes, it was Schoen and Daboll who ultimately filled the QB room. The question is, "Why was it just those three?"

If you truly want the answer to that question and are not just out for Daboll's head, things will become clearer.

Quote from: T200 on November 29, 2024, 01:38:51 PMThe very credit you and Todge give Jones for 2022 doesn't get provided to the coach who got Jones the accolades (and subsequent contract).

He brought something fresh to the table and it worked. but in any business, smoke and mirrors only lasts so long. can you improvise? can you adjust? daboll has never shown that ability, during a game or a season. You NEVER see halftime adjustments. EVER. How many games do we lose on the last drive?

The Steelers, with Kenny Pickett and Mitch Tribisky, were 10-7 and 9-8

We had plenty of winnable games over the last 2 seasons. If he's such a qb whisperer, he should be gotten SOMETHING out of any of those guys. Other teams do it ALL the time. and while yes they experience a drop off in play, they can still be competitive and eek out wins. And that goes for all positions, not just QB.

Rich,

Respectfully, constantly bringing up other players, teams, and coaches is irrelevant. What other organizations have done and are doing have no bearing on what's going on with the Giants.

Tim,

You are pointing Daniel Jones (who led his team to a playoff win), Drew Lock, and Tommy Devito to the back-to-back double-digit loss seasons.  It's worth seeing that the Steelers were capable of producing wins without having a true franchise QB.

As I have said before, you can't evaluate a head coach or GM in a vacuum.  This is a competition so it's how is our GM and HC better or worse than the rest of the league.   Being "good" in isolation is essentially meaningless when the goal it to be the best.
