Maybe the Giants shouldn't draft a QB in the 1st round

For the 12 game season so far he has 2700 yards, a whopping 14 yards per completion and a rating of 153. In the 5 games you picked they are 4-1.

He's far from a finished product.

I never said he was a finished product, just that he's not a 1st round pick. Which he's not.

Despite playing at THE elite college football program with stacked talent, he has a 15-10 TD-INT ratio and has led them to a disappointing 9-3 season.

He has every advantage working in his favor, and he and his team have disappointed. What's going to happen when he's playing with a below average OL and against superior defensive opposition?

I watched Sanders, Ward and Milroe this weekend and Milroe looked the least impressive. A QB with legs is great, almost a must these days, but he has to be pass first to be taken so high. From what I read Milroe could just stay one more year.

Staying might not be a bad idea though I think he will get drafted late first round by a team with a need.

I agree. Minroe looks bad every time I watch him. In the 2nd round if Beck, Allar or Dart are there, then we should pull the trigger. 1st round get the best player or trade back

The funny thing with Bama QBs is, for the most part, they are known for putting up big time production at Bama and then being underwhelming in the pros. Two recent examples of this are Bryce Young and Mac Jones, but there are plenty of others in the past. Milroe has bad stats by Bama standards (15 TDs and 10 picks at the end of the regular season is terrible there), so, although anything is possible, it's just hard to believe he'll be a good pro.

My preference as of now is not to get a QB but draft BPA to upgrade talent in multiple places.  Go FA for a QB or say 4th round.

Waiting until Round 4 to draft a starter is basically throwing away 2025 also

None of the QBs in this draft class are going to move the needle in 2025. You're setting yourself up to be disappointed no matter what if that is your expectation.

Both Sanders and Ward are known for holding the ball too long and trying to make the hero play. That type of play will not fly in the NFL, and it is very difficult to re-wire their brains to react differently - especially with the NFL game moving much faster.

If they can get Ewers or Rourke in the 3rd round, they wouldn't be losing too much in the way of QB upside while being able to draft a blue chip guy like Hunter, Carter, or Johnson in the 1st.

I have seen and heard this with Ward.... But Sanders I don't think so... he throws a little weird but he gets the ball out

Jones while he was athletic and mobile AF ... he was not very fluid with his movement .... which is partially why I think he refuses to not be a one read QB... he cant naturally progress or make any kind of physically movement in one big movement .. I feel like he needs to reset his thought process and movement process when reading the field.... which is why 50% of the reason he took so many sacks... I'm not going to put all blame on him though because up until his year (When healthy) our line was extremely terrible.

Even then Sanders AND Ward do not hold onto to the ball as long as Jones does .... Even if Jones takes a vacation in the backfield I never feel comfortable that he wont be sacked

Seems like "holding on to the ball too long" is becoming a more common knock on potential early 1st round QBs.

I've heard differing takes on this. To shorthand it, yes, he can hold on to it to try and force something to happen. But I've also heard those same analysts say that he moves through his reads quickly and delivers when the routes are there. My read on that is this concern doesn't read as a processing/anticipation issue at present, moreso trying to play hero-ball.

Didn't we draft a QB/trade for Eli when we absolutely needed a QB. Only one QB since 04 has been taken in the first round so small sample size maybe?

Washington needed a QB (got Daniels), Denver needed a QB (got Nix), Houston needed a QB (got Stroud), etc.
