Wondering how people are feeling about KT right now.

That money is fully guaranteed for the 2026 season once declared.

For reference the franchise tag in 2025 will be around 21 million.

Easy yes, his absence was felt when he went down. He is very good against the run, and is a solid enough pass rusher probably close to 20 sacks in less than 3 seasons

He's been disappointing but I would, yes. He's still only 23 so he might get better. And even if he doesn't, the 5th year option isn't going to cripple the franchise. The bigger decision will be whether or not they sign him to a second contract.

I'm not completely sold on him, but there's no doubt they have to. One of their biggest problems thru this 12 year stretch is losing their own players then replacing them with draft picks or free agents. What they really need to do is extend players when allowed at rates lower than they would get as free agents down the road. They can get the extra money early or take a chance that they won't get hurt and continue playing until they're free.

Ojulari cant stay on the field but he brings more disruption than Thibs does.

I think we need to go in 2025 Draft looking for an edge.

I have been very disappointed in Thibodeaux.  I wouldn't hate it, but would be ok with them NOT exercising the option.  I just see him doing a whole lot of nothing play after play, game after game.

It's one year and worth the investment. By then it won't see so high. That said, I don't see him living up to the position he was drafted.

I agree with the majority here.  I'd do it, but it's not a slam dunk. He's been merely..OK. Not a bust by any means, but he hasn't performed at top 5 pick's level.

The man cannot win a one on one consistently. He's a bust.

NO No NO   unless he is moved to a new position ..he is very weak and gets handled by one tackle on almost every play....not the impact player a high first round pick should be ...someone who dominated college football is now a average NFL player...

Almost all of Thibs sacks are cleannup sacks, not where he firstly beats his opponent to get the sack.

He's too weak and dances too much.  To think some here thought he was and would be better than Aidan Hutchinson is/was crazy.  Hutchinson is a hunter warrior.  Thibs is a basket weaver.

I don't have a strong feeling either way in terms of the 5th year option for him. 

I think the vast majority agree he has not been what people/expected from the #5 overall pick, but he is still young and still a good player. 

Financially it makes more sense than not.  My biggest issue with the option in terms of the cap is that in 2026 Burns will be a 30 million cap hit and Lawrence 27 million.  Another 15 million and you now have 3 players that are part of one group on the books for 72 million.  That shouldn't be a roster killer for a one year deal especially with a team that is very likely to have its QB on a rookie deal.

Using the option is certainly better if he has a strong 2025.  Even if he doesn't he will be a highly motivated player in that 5th year.  The team will be in a better place to make a long term decision in 2026 depending where they are in terms of a QB.

If I have a lean it's to use it as I see more potential good outcomes than bad, the cost is better than franchise tag and it's only a 1 year commitment.

For where he was drafted? Bust. You try to get his best year out of him in the 5th year and then decide. He is too weak but a better scheme (no fan of Bowen) may put him in a better position to succeed
