Right now would you exercise Thibodeaux's 5th Year Option?

And this his how you end up with a roster full of rookies, UDFA and practice squad players wondering why you are the worst team in the NFL.

He's in his 3rd year..and missed time due to injury so not even the full compliment of games...and he's already a "bust" and "failure"? He did get what 11 sacks last year? There's talent here. Plenty of room to improve sure but he's shown enough to warrant at least that 5th year.

IDK how this is even a question

Are we forgetting how long we went without pass rushers ?

Do we not remember when Oshane Ximenes, Injury prone azeez  and idk who else we plopped out there were our starters ? And Markus Golden of all people was our savior

KT may not be the best.. but Pass Rushers are obviously not easy to come by... he's good on run defense and he's already had a double digit sack season

KT hate is wasted energy when we have way bigger problems on this team

You make it sound like Golden was a bad player.

KT is the reincarnation of another Giants first round pick, taken #5 overall in the 1977 NFL Draft: Gary Jeter.

Jeter initially struggled to break the starting lineup; however, he eventually made about the same impact KT is making right now. But, by the end of 1982, Parcells shipped him off to the Rams. Some suggested he never reached his potential with the Giants. Others suggest he never reached his potential at all while others thought they overrated his potential. In any case, he showed flashes of his best with the Rams before injuries slowed him down.

KT returned from injury earlier this season and hasn't truly played at his full speed we've seen him in previous seasons.

Until such point the Giants have other ends who are more effective than him, I believe you keep him around and try to further develop him to his full potential. Unless he is unhappy living and playing in New Jersey, work with him and help him become his best self for the Giants, instead of some other team.

Jeter's time was up in New York and he wanted to go back to LA anyway. We're not there (yet anyway) with Thibs so take care of your player while he's a part of your organization. If you see him as part of your future, then work with him and his agent to make it happen. If not, then do a Jeter-like trade and get a couple of draft picks.

How much does he want to be part of the future of the team? Only he can say and go from there.

Peace!

"Dave Jennings was one of the all-time great Giants. He was a valued member of the Giants family for more than 30 years as a player and a broadcaster, and we were thrilled to include him in our Ring of Honor. We will miss him dearly." (John Mara)

I'm
Not saying he was bad I liked Golden

But that's like saying KT is bad ... last season he had a very Markus golden like season meanwhile being better against the run

Golden like KT got opportunistic sacks

If you tell me KT is Markus Golden + decent run defender ..... I think that's a win for us

Not the level of eliteness we wanted

But like I stated pass rushers are not easy to come by at all

Golden was not all that good.  Yes, he had sacks.  But most games he had his 1 sack and then was invisible the rest of the game.

How did his replacements fare? It's a trend here to kick players to the curb and think we'll be better.

That doesnt mean he was any better than what he was.

Bottom line is talent has to be replaced if it leaves the building for whatever reason.  This organization has not been good at that for quite some time now.  Teams cannot keep everyone but letting them walk and then drafting/signing inferior players brings the team to.......its current state
