I am curious: do you really want a head coach who can't handle "very difficult" tasks other head coaches can handle?

How about letting the potential Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year leave?

With all due respect, the only thing we are good at is second guessing. And even that only occurs after-the-fact and isn't necessarily something which is shared outside of our own personal conceit. Bitching, moaning, and "hating on" are other impulses which we somehow imagine can also bring us credit.

I suppose you might feel that I was being facetious when I began by saying "With all due respect..."  A chacun son goût.

Cheers!

How about going back to early March and counting all the fans here who were happy that no good, overpaid,  malcontent, money grubbing, poor leader, team last player, Xavier McKinney was gone for good? I was one of the few who wanted him back. It was all "his replacement will be drafted", "bum asked for too much money". Like every players will take below market to stay a NY Giants.

He's been bad for 4 weeks now.  I'd prefer the Giants draft a QB in the next 2 years, vice signing a QB with 1 playoff win in 13 years.

Yeah, I have no interest in Cousins either. He's not even available without trading for him. Do people really want to take on that contract AND give up draft capital for him? He just threw 4 INTs and was a total disaster. The Falcons have better players than we do and they're going nowhere with Cousins this year. I'm sure they'd love for us to take him off their hands and part with draft capital in the process. That would be a typical panicky Giants move.

Ending contracts cause many players to say things but it certainly does not mean they are not good football players.  If we cant keep and thus accumulate talent then all we do is drain and refill to same level. Hardly a formula to building a playoff team.

You are preaching to my choir but the narrative here is to cheap out with replacements.

100% agree.  Cheap out then always assume replacement will be as good.  For example imagine they signed McKinney so no need to draft Nubin so they draft Mike Sainristil to be slot corner as he has been one of best in NFL this year.  Now no need to draft Phillips so they use that pick on Bralen Trice or Cooper Beebe, both of whom have been good in their first year.
