Quote from: TDToomer on December 11, 2024, 09:01:26 AMWill you just stop? You are again going out of your way to start an endless argument where you have to get he last word and I am not playing along. Move on.

Donny,

I am just trying to get clarification.  You said

QuoteLock actually looked good in that game so thank to our Charmin Soft D he impressed Schoen to sign him to replace Taylor. It all makes sense now.

Now, to your credit, it's not uncommon for the Giants to acquire a free agent who did well against the Giants after the season is over; however, with Lock, that doesn't appear to be the case.  We can blame Schoen and Daboll for plenty.  I just don't think we should blame them for things that didn't happen.

A new QB, in my opinion, will not solve the problems because they are far more deep-rooted.  All drafting a quarterback will accomplish is ruining a young quarterback's NFL dreams.

So basically jones all over again.

The offensive line was fine if not straight up good in pass protection prior to the losses of Andrew Thomas and Eleumanor. If we get those guys back, the line should be fine next year. Any offense is going to struggle when you're down 60% of your line including both tackles. And yet, still, there are plays out there to be made that just aren't getting made. A better QB that can read the field would completely change the dynamic of this team.

If anyone is looking to get a good migraine headache, just read this read first thing in the morning and, BAM, off to the medicine cabinet you go!

Will any of this matter after four games when Lock and his wife sprint to their car after the final gun in Filthydelphia and bolt out of town never to be heard from again?

This is supposed to be a damned Tankathon, and the man did his job, so what's the problem here?

Cheery good morning from the Valley!

Peace!

a very good point.....If they draft a QB next spring they should also sign a good Veteran QB with experience and not force the new QB into playing immediately.
work on the O line etc. until the team is at least competitive

If you're the guy, you rise above said conditions and win anyway. If you're not, you get overwhelmed by the conditions and lose. And you get benched and all the fans move on.

Except for one guy with Stockholm Syndrome who goes on making excuses for you ad infinitum, apparently.

Quote from: T200 on December 09, 2024, 04:41:26 PMHe'll have a chance to live up to those lofty backup QB predictions.  :ok:
You should know that backups are typically signed in the offseason. Jones was offered several starting jobs but instead chose the better "situation " in Minnesota. Darnold will more than likely sign elsewhere leaving Jones and McCarthy. Look for Jones to be the starting QB in Minnesota next year.

Then why is Jones still on the Vikings practice squad and 4th on their depth chart with 3 QBs on the active roster? I think his choice of the Vikings is a bit odd.
