Its early. Yes I get it, but the 2022 draft class is almost 3 years old and it is often said " it takes 3 years to  evaluate a player". People on this board have several things in common, the love for the Giants and passion for football. We have seen enough of 2023 and 2024 to have an idea how players are trending. It didn't take long for people here to see that Kadarius Toney was headed in the wrong direction, in fact I beleive he is no longer with the Browns.

Out of Joe Scheons 3 drafts 2022, 2023 and 2024.....the draft that looks the most suspect to me is 2023

5-D.J. Davidson

5-Marcus McKethan

6-Darrian Beavers

2023

5-Tyrone Tracy Jr.

6-Darius Muasau

I say 2022 because youbare talking about picks 5 and 7.  They have to be studs.  At best we have middling (Thibs) and bust (Neal).  These should be foundational players.

Hopefully Schmitz can build off of last weeks performance

None of them look as bad as Neal plus remember where Neal was picked relative to them.

Banks is underperforming but again a late 1st round pick, not a 5 like Thibs.

JMS puzzles me.

Hyatt seems to be in Dabs doghouse.  He's quiet and catches everything.

ralphpal1

They were ready to pick Hyatt in the 2nd round
Why isnt he playing
If he is worthy of a second round pick
Either their scouts were wrong
Or
They dont have the ability to coach someone up

The majority of those drafted players are still on the team....Giants will likely be 2-15 team ....after
3 years ????  not one real standout player ??? Working on ruining their third #1 pick, Nabors
I have never thought Thibs played top to his billing , excellent College player ..so so pro...Banks ???? maybe Ok with another year, man to man guy, struggling with zone coverage, Nabors lots of talent but no QB or decent  offense to go with him..time will tell.
Overall grade for me after three years.   C+ at best

McFadden? Nabers? Phillips? Tracy?

2022 and 2023 were both really bad drafts.

2024 looks significantly better, but it's still a bit soon to tell.

The bad part was that 2022 was a foundational draft with 2 very high 1sts.  To fail there is unforgiveable.

Imagine of they signed some combo of Jordan Davis, Kyle Hamilton or Tyler Linderbaum

Agreed.

To be fair, I liked both the Thibodeaux and Neal picks at the time quite a bit. But I'm not being paid millions to be the Giants' GM.

Thibodeaux will be eligible for a contract extension for the first time in his career after the season ends. He is only 24 years old and has had some good games but definitely need to see more. I wouldn't give any type of contract extension at this point. Neal is a bust. Dave...I just like you liked both men, but this error lies Soley on Joe Scheon

Schoen will have to make a decision on 5th year options for Neal and Thibodeaux.  I think the decision on Neal is obvious.  Thibodeaux I think is likely to get the 5th year.

Jclayton92

Neal and Thibs were the cream of the crop that year with Sauce Gardner. I dont know that you can fault Schoen as the only 2 players in that top 13 to succeed were picked before us in Gardner and Hutch.

Macfadden good for the Giants Standard.. Tracy looks like a keeper time will tell if he can stop fumbling....Phillips has potential if he can stay on the field.
