SMART, TOUGH, DEPENDABLE

Ed Vette

Three of the best QB's are not in the playoffs. Ward and Sanders are better than any of them and McCord is better than 3-8.

Dillon Gabriel is better than Drew Allar though smaller and less ideal NFL size.

Man, it's tough to be shopping hungry when the shelves in the store are this bare...

I couldn't agree more.  He's far more dynamic, which is a critical component in today's NFL. Yet, I remain unsatisfied with this years QB prospects.  It seems to be the Giants' fate over the last 6 years. 'Earn a high draft pick with no QB to select.'

I like Jennings better than all the other guys on that list. Sophomore with 3,000 passing yards, 22tds 8 int, and 400 rushing yards with 5 tds with less talent around him than either of the others.

100% Matt.  Underwhelming group overall.  In retrospect to have drafted JJ, Bo or Michael then have a lost 2024 season but ability to go talent shopping in 2025 for a Travis Hunter, Mason Graham or Will Johnson type talent seems to have been better.

There's a lot more to evaluate before dumping this Class off as underwhelming. I'm not enamored because I haven't completed film on them yet. There's the playoffs, the Senior Bowl, Bowl games, and the Combine and interviews. You have to look at them in terms of their assets and liabilities and if their issues can reasonably be corrected. No QB is a slam dunk coming out of college.  I had to look past issues with Josh Allen, Drake Maye, Anthony Richardson, and Bo Nix before going all in on them. I liked Trevor Lawrence up until his last season at Clemson and I had to back off of him. I still think he can be a good QB in this league. Some take a while to have the lightbulb go off. Take a hard look at Jameis Winston who could be the next Mayfield/Darnold. These kids have come out way too soon in some cases. Bo Nix could be an example of why drafting a man as an experienced QB and having 10-12 solid seasons may be better than drafting a kid and hoping for 15 years.

Don't they have Bowl Games?
"It's extra special against Dallas. That's absolutely a team I can't stand. I've been hating Dallas ever since I knew anything about football." - Brandon Jacobs

Is Franklin holding Allar back or is Allar just not "the guys"?

I know there is a lot of criticism of Penn St's offense and the coaching. Some of the issue can be there.  Allar is basically a prototype physically, but as someone who has seen every game this year and last, I always walk away underwhelmed (with a couple of exceptions).

It's easy for needy NFL teams to fall in love with physical attributes.

Carson Beck is having surgery and is done for the year.

Respectfully Klubinck is better than most of the guys on this list.
