I wonder why? I have watched a few Miami games, just to look at Ward and I was unimpressed, but for the "fans" whom watch there team regularly, makes me pause.

Just like Sanders, he holds the ball way too long. You don't get punished for that against inferior competition in college, but that style of play doesn't hold up in the NFL.

That's why the best scenario is to lose out and trade down with a desperate Raiders team to get a 2025 3rd and 2026 1st. Draft Will Johnson at #6 and then Ewers (in the 3rd) or Howard (in the 4th). Then be in a position, with 2 1sts in 2026, to upgrade the QB position further from a far superior class.

The problem with that is it requires next season to look an awful lot like this season. Meaning Lock or Devito or someone as crappy as them has to be the starting QB and the Giants have to lose at least 13 games.

Because just having 2 first round picks doesn't guarantee you the team with the #1 pick is willing to trade. Look at last year. Chicago Washington and new England were all not trading. Giants could have offered their next 3 first rounders and those guys weren't budging. When you're in position to take a top guy you do it.

From what I've seen so far sanders is more steady. Ward has higher ceiling but also a lower floor. I think both grade out roughly the same and that would have put them right in the mix with Nix JJ and Penix last year. I think they end up going sanders because he's safer and their jobs are on the line. If this were 2023 and they still had job security I think Daboll would look at Ward as a guy he could be more creative with and go that route.

I do think they evaluated the QBs very well last year. So whichever guy they like best works for me. And if they do trade down for a haul I would want them making sure they end up still in the 1st round and taking Milroe who I'm starting to like more and more. Though clearly not as much as the top 2.

Milroe could be Lamar Jackson in this year's draft, and you may be able to get him late in the first. Like Jacson, you need to design an offense around him, but he does have raw skills.

May I respectfully suggest  a third choice and that being "someone else"

That's where I'm going with him too but Lamar was a better passer coming out of college than Milroe has shown to this point.  The athleticism is off the charts though.  I don't know if Daboll/Schoen can risk putting their jobs in his hands year 1 like that so I don't think that's the route they go.  But if Milroe could get a season to sit and learn from the right coach I think he could turn into something special.

Of course if both those guys get canned, the new regime may actually be willing to take him and let him sit behind somebody like Kirk Cousins for a year knowing they won't get fired if the team stinks again.

Every time I have heard a college fan base say they dont like their QB as an NFL QB, they have always been right.  Last one was UCLA fans saying Josh Rosen is not a good QB.  They see their QB every play.  I always trust their view.  This makes me nervous about Ward.  The thing he does which may drive fans crazy is he really does dumb mistakes like throwing into triple coverage.

I see some bad habits with Ward..decision making at times..trying to do too much. Certainly gifted. I would pass on him. If Schoen stays (please no), he's going to draft one of them.

Not sold on either. I am totally sold on Travis Hunter.

It's fascinating to me that over 65% of what is now a very large sample of respondents have indicated they'd prefer Ward to Sanders.

In no way am I suggesting that view is wrong. In fact, it might be right in flying colors. But it seems to buck conventional wisdom out there, which has Sanders as first QB off the board in just about every mock I've seen.

I wonder if the disparity in the BBH poll results from a genuinely strong belief that Ward will be the much better pro QB, or if it has more to do with a general feeling of aversion to the baggage and potential drama/distraction that Shedeur and his father bring to the equation. I suspect it is more about the latter than the former, but I could be wrong.

That's it right there.

The only knock about Sanders' play is he holds the ball too long at times... the same issue as Ward.

They hold the ball too long now...in college. We would think they would learn not to as they learn how to play in the NFL like just about every young QB should.  Its not a big deal and can easily be corrected.

I agree. Just trying to illustrate that the dislike for Sanders isn't football-related.

I personally like Shedeur Sanders more than Cam Ward.

I would take Sanders with the #1 pick.

Perfectly valid opinion, the majority of the country agrees with you, and you may well end up being dead right.

I agree. Which is backwards thinking and typical of the Giants and, to be honest, many of their fans.
