"There is a greater purpose...that purpose is team. Winning, losing, playing hard, playing well, doing it for each other, winning the right way, winning the right way is a very important thing to me... Championships are won by teams who love one another, who respect one another, and play for and support one another."

While Stefanski has done some nice things, he has really struggled to get quality QB play out of his QBs. Baker Mayfield is tearing it up right now, and he failed under Stefanski.

Deshaun Watson was a Pro Bowler on the Texans and was wretched under Stefanski. I appreciate there may be other factors at work with Watson but he's still in his 20s and, to my knowledge, was reasonably healthy.

Winston isn't doing much under Stefanski, albeit was never spectacular in the first place.

With Mayfield he doesn't have that much of an excuse.

Since the Giants are totally unstable at the QB position, I wouldn't be looking to sign someone with that QB track record as head coach.

He must come with a bad rep or something because he should have GM's falling over each other to line him up for an interview.

I wonder what his deal is?

I want to say he wanted to take a year off from coaching. He may not have like any of the job openings and didn't want to settle for a Coordinator role.

Vrabel is 54 and 45 as a Hc, not really a world beater. I'd only be ok with Vrabel if he brought klint Kubiak or someone comparable as oc.

Quote from: MrGap92 on December 16, 2024, 12:59:23 PMGoing from Daboll to Stefanski at best, is a lateral move. Change for the sake of change is not a recipe for success.

We would be going from a great offensive mind, who won coach of the year, who has been stuck with awful QBs yet still squeezed a playoff birth out of them and let them overachieve......to....a great offensive mind, who won coach of the year, who fumbled the QB position in Cleveland, they had Baker Mayfield and let him go, gave Watson a contract much worse than Jones, and has been a shell of his former shelf at best when he even sees the field. Then instead of retaining Flacco, they opt for Jameis Winston instead. I like him as a person, seems like a great dude, but he does play at a high enough level consistently enough. That is another QB related botch by Cleveland.

Stefanski this year also has the Browns just about as bad as us despite them having an arguably stronger roster, not to mention we beat them this year too.

In a year where a new starting QB will be chosen, keep me as far away as possible from anyone who had ANY part or involvement in that fiasco.
