No one ever stated Gettlemen had good draft classes .... He normally hit early then always made a lot of questionable picks in the middle rounds

That's what he was known for

Stop trying to project your feelings on others
Your wrong. This board was full of Gettleman defenders.

Woody

That sums up Giants. First and goal from 3 and they end with inc from 24 on fourth down

Is Scott Gragg back again. Seriously, release Evan Neal after this game.

Okay once again you keep expanding on what you are talking about

We are talking about draft classes .....

Just like i said this team sucks ..... gettlemen sucked

I'm not defending Schoen but im defending his draft class

Just like I'm sure Gettlemen had SOME defenders the general consensus was that his drafting was terrible beyond the first round

Should I have asked you if you were high?

You're capable of being more articulate than asking someone if they're drunk.

I understand your frustration, but I would appreciate a more thoughtful and intellectual discussion on this matter. When evaluating our General Manager, it is essential to consider his recent performance as part of the broader conversation, rather than isolating it or assigning blame for decisions made before his tenure. The current state of this team is largely the consequence of poor decisions in the draft, particularly the failure to select a quarterback in 2018 and the misguided choice in 2019. These decisions set the course for where we are today.  Teams with bad QBs are bad, independent of their surrounding talent.

Additionally, I believe that John Mara played a significant role in influencing the decision to re-sign Daniel Jones, and I would like to see what the GM can accomplish with one more year, particularly if he can replicate the success of the 2024 season. As for the head coach, I'm not opposed to making a change if that's what the situation calls for, but I've never been sold on Daboll. In fact, I was one of the few who questioned whether his performance in 2022 was sustainable, and I stand by that view.

Ed - if ownership truly believes in staying out of football ops they would fire on the spot whoever:

1. Wanted to give Jones the contract

2. Wanted to draft Neal

3. Wanted to give 5 million to Lock

Anyone who thinks this Mensa can make it at Guard is just fooling themselves. Let him clear waivers if they want to do that.

You're in a game thread. At the tail end of an embarrassing defeat to a QB our team passed on. Near the end of quite possibly the worst season in franchise history. And you using a minimally productive rookie class to justify bringing back a failed GM. There are no stars in this class beyond Nabers. There may be a couple starters. No different than what every failing franchise accomplishes with their draft picks.

I think we have seen guys get better when they move to Guard

I agree with you, Ed; however, trying him at G requires minimal investment that could offer a reasonable ROI.

To the people who say giving slick 5 mil was a waste (I agree) then if you believe in signing a bridge qb if we do draft sanders or Ward .... Why ?

Unless this bridge QB is someone who is obviously still very talented then MAYBE but I still find it pointless

If the point is to have the rookie see from the sidelines how the game is ran.... Then I see no difference in letting him watching Devito struggle for a few games vs overpaying for someone who is slightly better like that of a veteran like Lock

Or we could just let him play from day 1 like Caleb or Jayden Daniel's

It really makes no difference
