Suppose you could change one decision the New York Giants have made in the last 10 years. What change would you make?

Second that. It's the biggest mistake this franchise has made in my lifetime.

Not draft Daniel Jones.

Most of Gettlemans mess was cleaned up enough, this pick put the Giants in quite a few rough spots and has held them back for over half a decade now, possibly longer as the search now begins again.

Who would have been the QB when Eli retired?

IDK, Eli could have played that year, maybe he could have stayed one more, and they could have figured something out in the next draft or two.

If their draft slot stayed the same, they could draft Herbert or Tua in 2020.

As great a player as Barkley is, drafting him instead of a QB that year (Allen and Lamar were available) may have been the single biggest mistake of the past decade.

Again, just so nobody gets upset, that is not to say Barkley isn't awesome. I just think the decision was poor given the team's circumstances at the time.

Push it to the next year when the QB class improved. Reaching for need is the best way to get a turd.

2020 QB class (all better than the 2019 class):

Joe Burrow (he was a late bloomer so it's fair that he wasn't on the radar)
Tua
Justin Herbert
Jordan Love

Keeping Reese in favor of Colonel Tom.

It's been bad Karma ever since.

From Simms to Eli (with an assist from Hoss) our Super Bowl Quarterbacks. Great defense and clutch QB performances...NY Giants Championship football.

I have an old profile still floating around: andrew_nyg....I am one and the same!

You know, Jordan Love, with a year or two on the bench, may be a perfect fit for this team, Jordan Love likes to spread the ball around, he makes good decisions and can read defenses well enough. I think his game would actually be a really good fit for this team

If we're just talking about individual moves and not something big like hiring Gettleman then this is it. Of all the options the Giants had with that pick, they unquestionably picked the worst one.

First mistake, not drafting QB Sam Darnold or (Josh Allen) with the 2nd overall pick in 2018 and taking Barkley instead.

Second mistake, panicking and picking QB Daniel Jones instead of waiting for Hebert.

Third mistake, not drafting Herbert with the 4th pick overall in 2020.

Fourth mistake, drafting WR Kadarius Toney in 2021.

The first decision created a domino effect with which we are dealing with now.

Overall, before all of this was bringing in Gettleman as the GM, that was the icing on the cake.

Herbert in 2020.
"There is a greater purpose...that purpose is team. Winning, losing, playing hard, playing well, doing it for each other, winning the right way, winning the right way is a very important thing to me... Championships are won by teams who love one another, who respect one another, and play for and support one another."

Passing on signing Andrew Whitworth.  That was Eli's last year of his window.  Solder the following season wasn't enough and did do the team any favors with cap space.  Neither did Brandon Marshall whom they also sign that off-season.  The philosophy was with go WR and Eli's quick release they didn't need to invest in tackles.

Geez, so many mistakes.  The mishandling of the QB decisions, mismanagement of poor drafting, failure to fix o line. The most recent one was signing Jones and not franchising him for a year.   I'll say this though, the Giants O line in 2008 was a masterpiece built by Accorsi.  It got old in 2011 and has been broken since then.
