Quote from: DaveBrown74 on December 29, 2024, 05:50:50 PMJeez. All I did was comment on what I thought was a great QB performance by a Giants QB. Something we haven't had much of around here for quite some time, including the late Eli years as well as many of the other QBs besides Jones who have played here recently (Glennon, Fromm, DeVito, etc).

I appreciate that the win is not convenient for the objective of having the highest possible draft pick, but I don't really understand the controversy around me commenting enthusiastically on what was a great QB outing by a player on the team I root for. Which is all I did.

I found that post peculiar myself.

At least we can put to bed all the old controversies about the former QB because Lock definitively and with an exclamation point showed "it" can be done without Thomas and 2/3 of the starting oline!

The O-line played well and wasn't an issue

How unlikely, how unfathomable was that performance by the Giants?  Mind boggling..38 points on offensive..100 yard KO return for a TD..300 yards. 4 tds passing ..1 rushing by a QB...

One of the most shocking outcomes all year. Shame on the Colts. Total tank job by them. Made business decisions early off the bus.

Yes, accolades to Lock and well deserved!

But today was one helluva breakout game for Nabers who truly upheld the pride of wearing #1 today. His performance was off the charts and his slippery moves, to make the Colts' defenders whiff on their tackle attempts, as he scatterbugged into the end zone. So happy for him after what's been a frustrating season of having to get down and dirty for receptions and yards.

Lock had a career day, but so, too, did Nabers. Great potential today for taking his game to the next level for the Giants.

Peace!

That's my point. Good QB play makes an oline look good.

There were plenty times today where lock got himself out of trouble otherwise he would've been sacked

Sorry, I'm not congratulating Lock. He's this year's DeVito.  :angryfire:  :angryfire:  :angryfire:

Its not the same for me, Tim.  Last year I wanted Daniels; this year, I don't believe Sanders or Ward represent the same talent. I'm pissed we missed out on Daniels (and later Maye), but I'm happy we're not in position to draft Sanders.

I get it. Others aren't sold on him either.

I wanted the #1 pick so Schoen and Daboll get whoever it is they want, even if it isn't Sanders. Having the top pick eliminates any excuses of, "The guy we really wanted was gone."

That's a fair point.  I'm still hoping for the best; I do like our very young foundation.  Maybe we find our Russel Wilson in Round 2/3.

Lock was great. He was incredible. But he was no Simms vs the Broncos in the 86 Super Bowl.

I think they are both surprising and out of no where.  However, im way more impressed by Lock putting on a top ten best game ever.  It's just amazing!

It is. I'm just not happy for him because of the win. If we'd lost, I'd be fine.
