SMART, TOUGH, DEPENDABLE

I think it should be noted that there isn't a 2024 Sam Darnold story every year.

Yes, we have seen QBs have resurgences in recent years (Mayfield, Geno) but Darnold went from being hideous to being a borderline MVP candidate and certainly a pro bowler. Those other two guys didn't have that type of a turnaround. Mayfield has been very good for sure, but he wasn't as bad as Darnold was.

I'm not so sure about Wentz. I feel like he's had too many injury issues. Darnold never had that problem. He was always healthy. He was just on bad teams with bad coaches. What he did this year is still unusual and pretty remarkable though. Very rarely happens to this type of degree.

I agree with you 100%.

Also, does Carson Wentz come with the entire Vikings team? Especially their WRs?

If so, sign him tomorrow!!!

Peace!

Don't expect much from a bridge or one of the rookies at least not in the next year.

Expectations are tempered, kat, but for every Darnold or, better yet, Kurt Warner story that comes to fruition (NOTE: great for the game, and all fans, BTW), there are 100, or perhaps hundreds of others who don't get there, or perhaps have their "day in the NFL spotlight" (i.e. Tommy "Chicken Cutlets") and that's about it.

If the Giants can sign that "bridge," or rookie who can settle into the position and give them consistent play, even at an average/below average level, it will be an improvement over the inconsistency that has plagued the position for the last two seasons.

The concern with Carson is that when things go bad, he has demonstrated a tendency to spin out of control. Is that something he can/has the ability to correct through maturity?

I don't know the answer any more than the rest of us taking throws at the dartboard right now. But a steady QB, with a steady (i.e. healthy O-Line) would go a long way to improvement from where the team is today. I suppose they can bring him in and see what he has to offer. The rest, as they say, is up to him.

Peace!

What is Wentz connections to the entire Vikings team? He plays for the Chiefs.

Thank you for keeping me straight, Donny! I meant Darnold but the fingers typed Wentz as my fingers were onto a different thought.

What I meant to say was ...

"Also, does DARNOLD come with the entire Vikings team? Especially their WRs?

Peace!

I honestly did not think he was still the league until I saw he was starting this week.  I guess if they have no other choice they can take a flyer on him.
