That's his job. That's what he's supposed to do.

I know the majority of the folks here want him gone. As you know, I'm not one of them. He has something. He's far from the perfect coach but he has something.

The fan's perspective doesn't matter to the coaches and players. They go out there to win. Plain and simple.

"We're going to build this thing the right way... I'm not going to do a Hail Mary for self preservation. We've got a plan in place and we're going to stick with that"

-Giants GM Joe Schoen on potential roster plans and spending for the 2025 season.

It's an exhibition game. Nothing more.

He has to say that.  It's his job to say that and to say it loudly and demonstrably enough that it resonates with his players who are putting their bodies on the line every week for him.  He'd lose the locker room immediately if he showed even a hint of hoping for a loss rather than a win.

Having said that, it's Schoen's job to find any excuse to put guys on IR right now.  Nabers could have easily been put on IR last week with the ankle injury he was dealing with all week.  The only reason I can fathom why that didn't happen was because Nabers himself made it abundantly clear that if they did that he'd be furious about it and he's not exactly one to keep things to himself when he's pissed off.  So he could have forced Schoen's hand there last week and perhaps again this week.

But make no mistake.  Winning this game would be catastrophic for the Giants future.  Only slightly less than last week's idiotic win was.  To be the worst team in the NFL, at the end of maybe the worst season in your franchise's history, only to be picking 9th is an absurdity I still have not fully come to grips with.

So much for the "they're losing on purpose" excuse. The Colts game nuked that excuse. Daboll gave it his all and scratched out 3 wins in his 3rd year after only winning 6 games the previous year.

Yes but beyond that if anyone puts any stock in a W Sunday they should do the same for game three of the preseason.

I'm not crazy for Daboll these days, I believe that Schoen can stand up to Mara better than Daboll.

But it doesn't look like there's much out there.

So if Schoen could attract Vrabel. That could turn out to be a winning combination.

That's the only way I see Daboll gone at season's end. Unless of course Mike Tomlin is looking for a change of scenery LOL!

From Simms to Eli (with an assist from Hoss) our Super Bowl Quarterbacks. Great defense and clutch QB performances...NY Giants Championship football.

I have an old profile still floating around: andrew_nyg....I am one and the same!

If Jeff Hostetler could do it, Daniel Jones can do it !!!
