Maybe Siri is listening to us.

My wife has an iPhone, Apple watch and iPad.

One day my wife comes home with bananas and pears and puts both of them together in the same bowl. Within a short time the pears ripened quickly and even showed some rot.

A day or two later my wife sees an article on her phone about how bananas give off a gas that can quickly ripen other fruit that are too close.

Very strange and seems like more than a coincidence.

"There is a greater purpose...that purpose is team. Winning, losing, playing hard, playing well, doing it for each other, winning the right way, winning the right way is a very important thing to me... Championships are won by teams who love one another, who respect one another, and play for and support one another."

They all listen... Siri, Alexa, and Google. They are eavesdropping all the time. They have to always listen for their specific key word to activate their response.

The problem is that these companies store and use the data even when their key words aren't activated.

Apple users could soon be eligible for a cash payout after the iPhone maker agreed to pay $95 million to settle a class action case including alleged Siri eavesdropping.

How Much Will Apple Pay Siri Users?
As it stands, Apple will pay out $20 to Siri users, but the good news is, you can submit a claim for each of the devices you use, up to five devices, or $100 total. The settlement payment could be higher depending on the number of claims submitted and approved.

If you owned an Apple Siri-Enabled device between Sept. 17, 2014 and Dec. 31 2024, you could be eligible to claim. You also need to be based in the U.S. However, to get a share of the fee, you'll need to swear under oath that you experienced Siri activating unintentionally and had private conversations recorded by the voice assistant.

And to think when we were young we thought we'd have to worry about Big Brother. This is far worse.
I HATE TO INCLUDE THE WORD NASTY< BUT THAT IS PART OF BEING A WINNING FOOTBALL TEAM.

Oh the devices certainly listen.

I actually find it useful when we discuss a certain product we saw - can't remember where and a few days later, a suggested advert appears.

But I do take the concerns around privacy. My approach is something is always tracking me. As long as benefit from it, I don't particularly care.

It's the world we live in and it ain't going away. I'm firmly entrenched into Google atmosphere, for better or for worse.

I have been following the Los Vegas terrorist bombing story.  I was surprised by how much information Tesla had on the movements of the bomber.

From what I understand, Telsa isn't the only car company capturing data on the owners/users of their products
