Keep Schoen and Daboll

You may only select up to 2 options.

Up to two choices. You can elaborate on any additional changes you would make in the comments.
"There is a greater purpose...that purpose is team. Winning, losing, playing hard, playing well, doing it for each other, winning the right way, winning the right way is a very important thing to me... Championships are won by teams who love one another, who respect one another, and play for and support one another."

Now that's a no brainer. I mean there is absolutely no case to be made to keep them. That is if you seriously want to win.

andrew_nyGiants

I believe Mara kept them because he knows deep down that if he fired them he'd have no earthly idea what to do next.

From Simms to Eli (with an assist from Hoss) our Super Bowl Quarterbacks. Great defense and clutch QB performances...NY Giants Championship football.

I have an old profile still floating around: andrew_nyg....I am one and the same!

These guys showed they can evaluate rookie QBs.  Said both Maye and Daniels were worth trading up for and they were correct.  If only the teams ahead of them had been willing to trade which of course they were not.  So if they can properly evaluate these QBs and get a good one that can run an offense properly and, ya know, hit open WRs with the football, this team won't be nearly as disastrous as they were in 2024.  Even with the impossible schedule.  And, if they are as bad as 2024, then they are certainly fired next year anyway.

Any idiot could have evaluated those QBs. Please.

It was the right call to keep them both, IMO. I've said it all year.

It doesn't mean that they've done a great job. It means that Mara knows he didn't allow them to fully do the jobs he hired them for.

But they passed on JJ and Nix.

You can argue that JJ is still untested but Nix would have been a huge upgrade.

Let's see if they can work some magic this off season and improve us...

I doubt it.

You cannot translate success in one situation to an assumption of success in another. What Sean Payton needs in a QB and what Daboll needs are two pretty different things. Like Drew Brees once was, Nix is ideally suited to Payton. Maye was the QB in the last draft who I think (and it was reported that the Giants thought) was the best fit with Daboll.

There's a difference between saying you'd take a guy vs trade up to take a guy. They didn't mention Caleb Williams. They had Daniels and Maye 1. + 2 and at least to date they were right.

Nix certainly would have been an upgrade but anybody would have been an upgrade to the crap they had.  Would he have been better than Nabers? Probably not. Would he have been better than say Cam Ward + Nabers? Almost definitely not.

If they evaluate these QBs properly and I believe they can then next year's team will be respectable.

I prefer a head coach who can adapt to the QB talent available rather than limit their QB hunt to QBs that fit their preferred system.

An upgrade over what? Jones, DeVito, and Lock? That isnt saying much.  Being an upgrade over those 3 coconuts doesn't mean either is a QB that can win Super Bowls.

For me, it was all or nothing.

Either keep both or fire both.

If you keep both, and they xxxx up again next season, you fire them next season.

If you fire them both, you hand over the team in a compromised Cap position for the coming season to the new GM, which isn't ideal either.

Firing them next year potentially means changing regimes after a QBs rookie season.

Depends on what you do at that position. And whether you don't sign a veteran to a one year contract (or two years for that matter).

Correct, but given that they don't have a QB and the you have a GM and HC that know this is a last chance, I would guess they will draft a QB and sign one.
