To a man, the players all wanted Daboll back.  The problem with player-friendly coaches like Daboll is holding players accountable.  The friendlier the HC, the more his players love him.  On the other hand, if that popularity is due to accountability, you see the drops, dumb penalties, and mental mistakes that plagued NYG in 2024.  Daboll has had three seasons to clean up those issues, and they have gotten progressively worse (a common theme with player-friendly coaches).
