Yes, it does. Before I read the text I thought the Vikes had traded him to Baltimore or something.

The first hurdle has been secured to third string QB.  :nanner:

The signing is likely just to secure a comp pick should DJ sign with another team next season
SMART, TOUGH, DEPENDABLE

I realize it's hard for this predominantly anti-Jones Board to fathom. But let's remember 10-12 teams were interested in DJ with several offering him their starting job. Jones chose the Vikings because the "situation " is the opposite of the Giants. So just perhaps the rest of the league views Jones as a victim of a bad situation - poor offensive line play, poor coaching and only one real weapon. For those that don't believe a QB is only as good as his supporting cast, they would say that the "situation " doesn't matter and that Jones stinks.

It was reported that the Vikings heavily recruited Jones. The only viable roster spot was on their Practice Squad. But if Darnold leaves or is injured, that would leave McCarthy and Jones to be the only QBs. The former is an unproven rookie and may not be able to beat out the more seasoned veteran in Jones. Not to mention that McCarthy is still not fully recovered from knee surgery.

todge,

With all due respect, I don't believe that for not even a second.

Is there a source where I could read these assertions about Jones' being in such high demand?

From Simms to Eli (with an assist from Hoss) our Super Bowl Quarterbacks. Great defense and clutch QB performances...NY Giants Championship football.

I have an old profile still floating around: andrew_nyg....I am one and the same!

Those adventurous investigative reporters at yahoo sports. Even they don't speculate him starting in 2025. Spaghetti on a wall.

For the thousandth time Jones is not under contract with the Vikings in 2025. All they have is exclusive negotiating rights till free agency opens up.
