I am sorry I offended you by mentioning Daniel Jones by name.  My intention was to mention DJ as an example of a starting QB who was generally considered mediocre to very bad.  I didn't realize that just mentioning the Daniel Jones name would be so triggering for you.  I will keep that in mind in future discussions

Yesterday you insult people's intelligence by accusing them of group think.

Today you employ the lowest form of wit.

I wonder why so many people refuse to or reduce their engagement with you.

Today's picks:

Bills I think the Broncos will hang tight early but eventually they will not be able to match the firepower of Josh Allen

Packers I know they are the 7th seed and have already lost to the juggernauts of the NFC (Lions, Vikings and Eagles) this season but I'm tipping them to pull off an upset. British odds makers have them at 2/1 to win and I think that represents some value

Bucs I actually think this is a coin toss game but I think Evans, the Running Backs and better QB play will be the difference in a tight game.

Really looking forward to this slate.

I am sorry, but I have a hard time taking a lecture seriously from someone who posted this in response to Daniel Jones being used as an example of a bad QB

QuoteI'm not sure why anything about criticising or supporting a QB comes with Maude Flanders type exclamation of 'Won't somebody think of Daniel Jones'.

Quality discussion comes when this sort of nonsense isn't posted.  Like I said, in the future, I will not trigger you to go off on insulting rants by mentioning our former starting QB's name.

PS-  I can't even get over the magnitude of the irony of someone who claimed to be insulted by the mention of group-think turning around and touting the virtue of group-think.

I swear talking to some of you can be positively exhausting, between the insults, put-downs,hypocrisy and faux outrage

I watched much of the Chargers/Texans game. It's true that Herbert did have a few things not go his way in the game, but I still thought he was quite poor.

I also think it is perfectly fair to hold his lack of postseason success to this point in some degree of judgment. I do think there are a lot of reasons for this that go well beyond him, but when you become the 4th highest single percentage consumer of your team's cap in the NFL, the excuses become less and less credible.

Let me be clear: I am in the camp that Herbert is a fabulously talented QB. I love watching him play. But he was bad last night, and I think it's fair to raise questions about his lack of any sort of postseason resume after five years in the NFL. CJ Stroud already has more playoff wins. So does Daniel Jones. Now that he has a great coach, two all world offensive tackles, a high quality emerging receiver, and a respectable running game (not to mention the best defense in the league this year from a PPG against point of view), it's time to start being a factor in the postseason. He turns 27 in several weeks. I remain optimistic about him.

In all fairness to Herbert Lamar Jackson was 2-4 in the playoffs until yesterday when he became 3-4 despite the great teams he has had around him since joining the Ravens.

Completely agree. Jackson has a terrible track record of postseason play. He has had great teams around him and has two MVPs (possibly three after this year). Has he ever gotten out of the second round?

I argued for Brock Bowers for the Chargers and Herbert really could have used him yesterday. Now, Alt is a rock at Tackle but Bowers would be just as impactful IMHO.

If the Chargers are tired of Herbert. I would welcome him with the Jints anytime.

Lost in the AFC Championship last year. Technically didn't win 2 games in a post-season campaign as they had a bye in the first.

Yeah but only just last year vs the Chiefs. The Amazon broadcast showed that in those 4 playoff losses he's had they were favored significantly in all but 1 and he still lost them.

I'm going to sound real stupid with what I am about to post but here it goes. I was out skiing yesterday with a long drive home and my plan was to DVR both games and watch them back to back. I searched NFL on my Guide for Saturday and recorded both available games. After the Texans put the game out of reach I switched over to the next "playoff game" and started watching....The Packers at the Eagles on the NFL Network. There was only one slight problem. The don't play until Sunday. This was a rerecording of a regular season game! I watched half the game thinking it was a playoff game and started texting people about the game and got a few confused responses. It wasn't until about 10:30 that I found out that the Ravens and Steelers were actually playing on Prime. I missed SIX touchdowns by the time I tuned in.

I think it is crap that playoff games are being playing on streaming g after decades of them being available on regular of cable TV. I am thinking of writing a letter to my Congresswomen about this issue and see if there is anything the Federal Government can do to stop this crap.

End rant. Go Bills, Packers, Bucs and Vikings.

TD: Don't feel bad. I almost fell for the same thing & I'm sure others did. It was likely just a coincidence that the replay involved the same two teams, but who knows. At least you got a good year for skiing! As for the politicians, I still think NFL is a monopoly, although most pols will tell you that ship has sailed. Bob
If Jeff Hostetler could do it, Daniel Jones can do it !!!
